Re: SFO landing Rwy 01R today

The 10's are more common than you think. Plenty of winter takeoffs from runways 10, of course, but landings on runways 10 are rarer than landings on runways 1. As long as I've been in the Bay Area for 30 years, my impression is that landings on the 1s are more rare than landings on the 10s. Planes ...

It probably was the 767 but are you aware of how loud 777 engines are on start up? They can be heard over all the other aircraft at LHR so we should definitely hear them start here. Yes I do know how loud the 777 engines are. I've flown on 777-300ER and 777-200ER many many times and I've heard them...

I believe the engine start up we hear is from the north end of the field. I'm pretty sure that was not the engine start up of the 777-9. The camera is way too far from the plane. Interesting perspective here about the increase prices. Actually I have noticed that LAX-SYD/MEL on UA lately have been cheaper than 5 years ago with 747 - I can find around $500-600 roundtrip compare with $1500 in 2014. There is now a lot more competition on the LAX-SYD route with UA, AA, DL, QF a...

Great, that means airfares will rise dramatically on this route. I fly this route a lot. Within a few years on this route, UA downsized from 747-400 to 777-200 to 787-9. And now with QF downsizing, planes are not only packed but it's going to be a lot more expensive.
