Does UA have ATC on ch.9 also on transatlantic flights. Its a triple7 from FRA-IAD next friday?
M
Can you hear ATC on channel 9 on transatlantic flights too? I'm traveling from FRA-IAD next friday and nothing would make me more happier than having atc all the way...
It's a UAtriple7
M
Hi guys,
Does United have PTV's on both planes. I am pretty sure that 777 has them, but what about 767? the 777 flight is from FRA-IAD and the 767 flight is IAD-Dusseldorf.
Thanks...
M
because the production was brutally ended by Boeing. And since it is still looking like a plane compared to all modern windtunnel copies...

Finnair bought Kar-Air years back and in the deal they got 2 A300-B4's. They were all the time used in charter flights until they were replaced by 752's

Looking forward to visitin AMS Schiphol and flying those old DC-10's. And in D.C. it's Gravelly Point aaaaall day.
M
Well this is good news as I believe my flight is leaving from Pier E (Northwest). And even if the flight leaves some other Pier, I'm still lucky enough to see some action in Schiphol.
Thanks guys
M
Hi
I'm going to fly from HEL-AMS-IAD on saturday. There is a good 2 hours to wait in AMS so where should I head for some spotting. Should I (is it even possible to) leave the transit-area. I read that there is a Panorama Terrace but it is not open for public anymore.

"Most airlines give children under 2 a free ticket anyway, if they sit on their parents lap. So as long as the little one does not require its own first class seat, I am sure it will be free." Iain: Free??? I've made 2 roundtrips HEL-IAD with my son, First trip he was 7 months old and now 14 months...
Jump to postGood news, will be able to spot some planes again on my trip to DC.

Finnair is reducing its flights to JFK to 6 per week instead of 7 and increasing flights to BKK by 1 per week. This could be because of the Hong Kong route which is via BKK.
M
Thanks guys, didn't occure to me that fleet information could be in Investor Relations section, well anyway it was worth waking up today as you always learn something new everyday...
DC10, here I come!!!

It is said that the Captain was in hurry not because he was about to exceed Cockpitcrew's maximum hours, but because there was a possibility to exceed cabincrew's maximum hours which were at that time shorter than cockpitcrews. I think the prison was not the first thing in his mind in that day rathe...
Jump to postWell it sure is. Here in Finland our national carrier has a fleet of less than 60 planes and personel of 10000-11000 people. I can only imagine what the numbers are in NW...
M
Jeez!!!
510 planes, not just a small commutercompany eh? I suppose there are bigger airlines than this but still 510 planes is quite a lot.
M
Hi
Maybe I have been getting false information, or maybe it has come from someone who doesn't know any better, anyway I will enjoy the trip, too bad its still 4,5 months away (counting days...)
Anyway, how about their fleet, how many planes, types?
M
Hi! I have booked a flight from NWA and could not find fleet info on their website so here come the questions: How large is their fleet? Do I get very disappointed flying in their DC10-?? after flying several times with AF in their 777's and A340's? (I think I know the answer <img src="/discus...
Jump to postnice planes both, glad they have'em both. That gives you the possibility to fly both.

Flying from west to east (IAD-HEL)really kills me for about a week. I don't know how to handle the jetlag and everytime I come back home I am absolutely broken...
M
I cannot define myself as an expert but maybe a fan then. AF has been my favorite longhaul airline for over two years now, and everytime I have to choose an airline, I compare it to AF. As a result of this, I'm going up with AF again on next saturday from HEL-CDG-IAD. Jeez!!! Thats day after tomorro...
Jump to postIf you hate flying then take the direct flight, but if u like planes and airports then you might want to take the risk for some possible baggageproblems. If I would be traveling always alone I would change airline all the time.

My vote goes to...
... washing the planes from time to time. Anyway, nice airline also with not-so-clean planes. As long as they keep them clean inside I'm with them.
M
Every plane me in it. The name or type doesn't matter.
M
Aaaaah, and what they did was close my alltime favorite Kai Tak. I would have wanted to see some pictures of OH-LGA and the famous checkerdboard. Well that's life

Am I an aircraft fan, Hmmmm let me think for a while Yes, I am. Anyway, hope to be in row 23. We are a group of 4 adults and my son. We have made a wish that we could sit near eachother...

Hi all I'm going to travel with my family from CDG to IAD next saturday. Jump to postI know that AF operates both 777 and 340-300 from CDG-IAD. They have (or had in somepoint) 2 daily flights to IAD both operated with different plane.

Can´t complain! I've done roundtrips from HEL to IAD with AF and never had any problems. OK once was the flight from CDG to IAD delayed because of technical reason but as I said, can't complain. Because of the delay I had an extra 2 hours to watch the action in CDG. Luggageproblems have only occured...
Jump to postJeah! Some 5 years ago Air Botnia was still very small company flying domestic flights in Finland. My wife won in some lottery organized by Air Botnia a roundtrip from Helsinki to Jyväskylä. We had no business in Jyväskylä, so we decided to just go flying so that we wouldn't waste the tickets. Well,...

When do people start to understand that Listprice and discount out of listprice does not tell you anything. Absolutely nothing. Listprice is something that someone has written. What does the IGW mean? Increased Gross Weight??? what?PLS tell me!!!
Would there be anything to discuss if Boeing was the builder of this great plane? You US guys are about to see a great plane. What you do not see, is that discounts and actual productioncosts have very little to nothing to do with eachother. Airlines are only interested how much money they have to h...

Jump to postHi In the last two years I have flown twice HEL-CDG-IAD-CDG-HEL. Almost all airports are companies or own by state and that means if the airline wants to have more room/gates/lounges at the airport, it has to pay for it. Of course when you buy more, the price might come down.Anyway, the main principal is that the airport has something that the airlines want, and ...

Hi
Can't tell you anything about German courts, but what I know is that they have had to think this peeing-incident throughly before making this decision. Otherwise there would have been an appeal of the verdict to the next level of German court.

Jeez, welcome back to the stoneage...
Wouldn't removing him from the plane be a suitable punishment?
