Just amazed at the size of DEN additions!! I was in college in Denver when they started this out in the middle of nowhere. How times have changed! Any pictures of the new hangar? Post 246 has a picture from mid August, and it has not really changed much. The project is running behind schedule and w...Jump to post
Thanks for this update. I was not aware of the commuter re-location plans, but I guess it makes some sense. It probably paves the way too for the eventual eastward expansion of A concourse in the future. Appreciate the photos. You provide those of us interested in DEN aviation way more information t...Jump to post
Could you help me understand approximately where an east concourse would be built? Would that be proposed to the east of Rwy 17/35? Thanks. Frontier 14 Here is the graphic posted in the 2019 thread: https://i.imgur.com/NEGgW0Yl.png As far as the new gate go, both Southwest and United have said ther...Jump to post
DEN1985 (or anyone else who knows), this is a more long term question that im wondering if you have any information on. The latest master plan update shows future concourses East and West of the main terminal which ive heard might be a better option that expanding out to D/E. Have there been any di...Jump to post
I believe I am correct when I say this, during the 1990s and early 2000s Midwest and Great Lakes ran their Beech 1900s back and forth between FMN and DEN three to four times a day. Granted the oil exploration business was hopping then, but the demand will be there if the flights are scheduled right....Jump to post
How us the performance today? I'm perplexed how any airline today could have insufficient pilots and crew on reserve. Frontier has a significant number of pilots on Leave of Absence (LOA) for the entire month of July. The lack of internal communication between F9 depts and the uptick in pax numbers...Jump to post
I also noticed this. Lots of cancellations across the board. I figured it was from low demand. Rumor has it that the someone dropped the ball with communicating between those who planned the flights, and those who scheduled staff to operate the flights. There have been a significant number of open ...Jump to post
Appears the Frontier owner Franke is ratcheting up his airline with a significant increases of multi-daily flights from various locations. This is a major change in how F9 has operated in the past. Is it sustainable, only time will tell.
Again appreciate the updates for the DIA construction progress. Nice to be able to see photos of what has been happening versus reading excerpts from the airport. Do you have any information in regard to gate leases that were to be signed prior to Covid. I know UA had a big splash about their new ag...Jump to post
Glad the PDX-DEN gap has finally been filled by AS. Next big hole in the PDX network is UA PDX-LAX. Probably a good move by Alaska to re-try this market. With UA, WN, and F9 all having reduced their daily/weekly frequencies, the regional AS loyalty should give them an edge when the airline sector r...Jump to post
The upper fuselage was always a creme' color (DC-4's, 6's, Constellations) however IIRC, the original 707's delivered in the early 60's were white. These were stop-gap airplanes until the 720B's were delivered. The 707's were originally destined for Cubana - and had a white-top fusleage. The order ...Jump to post

The F9 CEO (Biffle) spoke to employees yesterday via conference call and gave an update of where the airline was currently at. He indicated that the April schedule will be pulled down even more than previously announced. The April schedule will operate at 10% of its' original schedule. All non neo a...Jump to post
Frontier management has announced to employees that bookings have dropped off dramatically and they will stop hiring of all non-essential open positions effective immediately. In addition, the April flight schedules will be reduced by 10% and the May schedule projected for a 20% reduction. Managemen...Jump to post
Glad to see that Taos Air has been successful so far. The DO-328 is a nice plane to fly in.

DEN1985 thanks for your factual information. There were and are somethings that are not solely within the airport management's authority which most of us realize. However, when the wheels of repair and change turn slowly that results in frustration. For me, I have had concern for a number of years r...Jump to post
This was discussed briefly in the OAG thread, but I think it merits its own thread. I'm very surprised Denver Air Connection bid on this EAS contract, because it will be their only route that does not serve Denver. It would be nice if Denver Air Connection extended their current Denver-Alliance rou...Jump to post
A very interesting note right at the end of the video - DEN is talking to the TSA about allowing people to go back out to gates to drop people off and pick them up. That's a game changer if they do it. From the video, I still miss the trees in the great hall. it was a amazingly lush place before th...Jump to post
I suspect there is more to come. I'm not clear how they add a single 3/week route given the entanglement of their network. Also, this isn't an F9 release which means they may be packaging up multiple items for a broader announcement. These broader announcements usually occur on Tuesdays if past add...Jump to post
Adding Steamboat seems like a decent idea (although with the MAX how will they source it?), but to Denver??? That part makes no sense. There will be no local market at all and Southwest doesn’t even have a truly banked hub. This will lose tons of money based on any industry typical modern measure o...Jump to post
Indeed, but if they knew UA was going to want almost all of A west from the get go, building out the remainder of A east should have been included. Also, to my knowledge, the concourse expansion didn’t address renovating the existing portions (other than the bathrooms) to match the decor of the new...Jump to post
Not by any means a confirmation but yesterday it was discussed in a pilots forum that EWR is now a crew base. I asked the FAs at the front of the cabin as we deplaned to clarify and she did say it will be at least an FA base. Not sure about pilots. She specifically said “flight attendants” when I a...Jump to post
Yes, it will be interesting where Frontier, Delta and American's gates are eventually allocated to. There may not be an immediate move from their present gate locations. On the agenda for the next Business, Arts, Workforce, & Aviation Services Committee meeting on Wednesday is a contract to give Southwest 40 gates (24 existing, 16 new). Perhaps some EWR-based routes? Maybe some ORD-based routes as well. Seeing how F9 is expanding its ORD Hub/Focus City, there are a lot of possible routes for F9 to add. Hear me out on this: ORD-SFO: Currently, there is no Low-Cost Service to SFO from ORD. And yes, I am aware that NK flies ORD-OAK. ...Jump to post
It is true that Frontier is an airline you cannot count on being committed to a community that does not use it. They seem to consistently not allow for any significant time for new routes to mature. It is either confirm the bookings or they will be gone before very long. In some cases they did not e...Jump to post
DEN1895, thanks for the construction photos of the gate expansions. These are nice to see. I was at DIA yesterday and could see a little of the A West construction from the terminal west side passenger departure/drop off ramp. Much appreciated.

Did Frontier change its pricing model to encourage people to buy round trip prices? I just got an email (many of you probably did too) saying they're bundling round trip fares and you can save more if you book round trip. My understanding is yes to another way of pricing their product. With the ULC...Jump to post
Demand for F9 service out of CVG has also been decreasing since its peak in July 2017. They’re probably going to announce MIA as a new base. I expect a bloodbath between AA, Frontier, and Spirit. While you may be correct, I am thinking it will be more AA and F9.
