AS lops off a frequency on SFO-SNA from 6 to 5. Just one flight. But continues with the previous optics of cuts on former Virgin markets for AS. Actually AS added this 4x daily after the merger. I can see UA adding SFO-MEL in the near future to match the new Qantas 787 service, while also retaining LAX-MEL. I thought IAH-SYD was being reduced somewhat, during low season Southern Hemisphere winter months as traffic falls off a bit. Qantas relies on AA feed at SFO, which is not as strong and...

Based on how difficult it is to find partner award space on Alaska recently I'm not sure it would be wise for SQ to start SEA. And even if they did I think DL would announce their own nonstop

Does anyone happen to know when this route was cut? I took it in the past few years, and now the only connection is through ARN. It seems like a natural star alliance route, especially since the new airport in Berlin is so delayed.

I think UA is probably happy with CM doing SFO-PTY 3x daily, and AV doing SFO-SAL 2x.

So AS will never ever consider acquiring some 788's to compete with DL internationally out of PDX/SEA, or with UA out of SFO? I'm not really comprehending how they thought that they would capture the VX crowd once they stripped the VX aesthetic without a true international network.

B6's Mint product is a true J product of international quality, and the only other carrier offering a comparable J on South Florida to SFO is American on AA383 (international 767). Somewhat unrelated, but I flew on a UA 767 IAD-MXP, connecting to a UA 727 MXP-FCO, in January 1993. I am not sure if there were other similar routes flown.

Can someone explain why RNO would work better in summer than winter for both UA and AA from ORD? It seems like ski season would be more lucrative. Tahoe is every bit as much a summer destination as a winter. On a trip to Tahoe, I was chatting with our waiter who was a long time resident and worker....

While SFO has a good range of destinations in Europe, it still is the 2nd choice for many EU carriers when they want to serve the West Coast. Most telling is that both LO and OS fly to LAX instead of SFO despite the large Star hub up the road. Furthermore, many of the destinations served out of SFO...

I live in Portland, and Delta's summer 4x weekly seasonal PDX-LHR route is very expensive (although as of recently the prices for that flight have significantly dropped for departures in May, but then climb high once again at the start of June). So I would totally make the 2.5 hour drive to Seattle...

Issues with pax planning to board in ORY and transit SFO. I can't get into the issues, but I can tell you that currently SFO has no transit lounge and has no plans to build one for starters. :) There are no issues with the new flight. AS starting SFO-PHX

Excuse if already posted, but I see that AS is starting SFO-PHX seasonally on 2/20/18 2x daily. It seems strange that they chose seasonal, but it's a first step I suppose.
