Trans Guyana Airways just started an OGL-PBM Sundays and Mondays to connect with KLM’s PBM-AMS. Equipment is their Beechcraft 1900D. They are touting a 12 hour OGL-AMS.

A few inaccuracies. Although the Guyanese in NYC are 2nd and 3rd gen, they do travel regularly to Guyana. They are American enough not to worry about hot meals, more so than the older gen, so the complaints will be from the older folks. Price is key to Guyanese VFR, then the next priority is luggage...

Adverts for B6 in the local media says $550 rtn and $320 o/w. Last price on BW was $850 rtn. AA was $750 geo-ewr rtn via Mia.

AA MIA-GEO is bookable on their website daily from May 2019 thru the end of the year. Same A319. Fares have been reduced substantially. One of Guyana's dailies says OJ is looking to return mid March 2019.

The few reasons I have not used BW recently, the a/c are dated and the IFE is non existent. I hope that has changed with the streaming IFE. Flying via OGL is easier as I can leave 1 hour before the flight and get there with time to spare. I get a good reason to stop over/visit friends in BGI and POS...

CMs GEO works heavily because of the Cuban market as well as travel from non gateway US cities, and even from NYC when the fares are competitive. David Patterson Guyana's Public Infrastructure minister says another US airline is interested in starting December 2018 MIA-GEO and New York-GEO. BW sent me an email that they are starting "even more space" similar to JetBlue, from rows 4 to 10 and charging for it. I guess they are going to reconfigure the interior of the 738s. Still they need to fix up their interiors.

I just arrived at EWR and our JetBlue parked alongside TF-ICE and I was wondering if this was the first flight, now it is confirmed. The a/c looked awesome. Just next to it was Lufthansa A350. Beautiful.

With the United Airlines BGI-EWR seasonal service, I will be flying LI to BGI and connect with that flight later this month. OGL is a sweet option as I can get there 1 hour prior to departure compared to GEOs 3 hours.

[I suspect when people say this, they usually mean they'd like to see a LI/BW w/o political interference w/o considering the financial impact of privatization. Few will recognize that the govt's are the only entity in the Caribbean both willing and able to withstand the potentially significant loss...

I think that folks are accustomed to those hours as unless one takes the early bird LIAT its hard to know when one will arrive. LI usually starts the day early, but its sometimes down hill after that. I am always surprised to see how many are on those "crack of dawn" flights in the Easter...
