Re: 2019 SNA Slot Allocation Released

Does anyone know the determination ATC makes for allowing reverse op takeoffs at SNA? I drive by SNA every morning pretty much right at 7:00 am (when curfew ends). However, once or twice a week I notice a plane (usually a UA A320 headed to Chicago - this morning it was UA flt# 230) take off using 2...

AS has 2 unused slots at SNA currently.
Possibly once PAE opens the aircraft can be used to add PAE and FAT.

Having one company running all 3 airlines will probably help the flow of the operation better since you will have 3 airlines using 2 gates. it's a small terminal as a whole this eliminates the need for multiple brake rooms for each airlines staffing. The first MAX7s will all be ETOPS birds.
The extra range and better performance will see these birds connecting DEN,LAS,PHX and possibly BUR,SNA to Hawaii.
Also these aircraft will give WN the ability to possibly do some service to Western Europe from BWI.
