Re: BoA hard landing in GRU-winglet damage

I watched the landing video (from the cabin perspective) several times and it’s almost as if the MLG tires “locked up” somehow or the brakes locked up on landing and that’s what caused the shimmying. I think the shimmy could have come from something as benign as landing in a slight crab, especially...

The president of Taiwan was visiting Guatemala and Belize (two of the 13 countries that officially recognize Taiwan) this week…looks like B-18917 might have been carrying the delegation.

Re: Delta Airlines Introduces Free On Board Wifi

It was actually really nice to have wifi available on my last few Delta flights…it was either free or a flat $5, depending on the aircraft, and the connection was great. Compare that to AA’s $20 for a single flight’s dose of wifi…

I also noticed the samething! Was the airport shutdown? Flights were following different flight paths than usual. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210916/f03c95b0b54e13b772eb71306f272693.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210916/7c6a79e126270dd72ca1cad0e85b1198.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cd...

OKC-MIA was absolutely packed the other day (maybe just because of the long weekend). Really wish the MIA-OKC leg wasn’t such a late flight.

Re: Very disturbing interaction between ATC & Pilot...

Finding yourself in IMC when not under an IFR clearance, especially if you’re not IFR rated, is usually a good enough reason to declare an emergency. If I declare an emergency, I’d at least expect ATC to be proactive if the workload enables (maybe offer to read me the ATIS, don’t add to my task satu...

Exactly what UPS757Pilot said. Rush a Guard unit and get paid to fly something awesome. It’ll be a hell of a lot easier on the wallet, too.

Re: AA Boeing 737-800 Seatback Entertainment

It seems that, on the 737s that do not have seatback IFE, they provide free streaming through the wifi system. I watched a couple pretty good movies on my last flight, which was on N946AN (15 years old).

Re: Airliners.net Site Upgrade Announcement & Discussion

The information beneath the image seems to be a bit overdone. For example, I really don't see a need for having a version, generic type, and basic type--aircraft type works just fine. Is there any way the information can be consolidated reorganized, maybe similar to the boxes in the old site, or wit...

RE: Eerie Video Of Cirrus SR-20 Crash In Houston

I am currently doing some flight training in the SR20. It's a wonderful aircraft to fly, and a lot newer and faster than the 1976-build C172 I'm used to flying; however, it does take some getting used to. You need to set it up for landing much earlier, as it flies fast and takes a while to slow down...

Flights to MIA have actually been rather expensive. For a hub-to-hub flight, $400 is quite a lot, especially for such a short hop.

The latest update to the FlyDubai article on the Aviation Herald states that the nose trim was held for an extended period of time and set to 5 degrees nose down as the crew commenced their attempted go-around. From my very limited flying experience, this sounds as though the pilot flying inadverten...

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find specific dimensions for airliners. I'm not just looking for length or wingspan--I'd like to go into greater detail. I am trying to find the loads on the wing of a 767-300ER for my engineering class, but I have no idea where to find the distance betwee...
