If the price is right, passengers will still fly with AY. Lately the EU3 have some pretty sweet deals ex.Japan to North America (via EU of course), and people are more than happy to save $150 and spend 23+ hours travelling.Jump to post
The most interesting (non conspiratorial) thing these rumors have made me realize is that there aren't really any domestic passenger redeyes in China. Freight yes, international passenger yes, but no domestic redeyes in China. I would have expected something like Urumqi-Beijing or even Chengdu-Shen...Jump to post
LH is generally pretty good with keeping the assigned aircraft the same, until the day of departure. LH has a lot of flexibility with their Airbus fleet, allowing them to switch/sub aircraft as needed at the last minute. Yep, happened to me already, when an A359, that was operating for weeks on tha...Jump to post
It makes no sense commercially. And what's wrong with Asiana? It's already pretty similar to Korean Air in most areas of the business, and it is already in Star Alliance (for now at least). i would say , which hub will EK fly to and where would UA come from to DXB , if UA made a good calculation they can fill 3 daily from there 3 biggest hubs to DXB. If UA resumes DXB, it will surely come from EWR which is not yet served non-stop to DXB. It is, already for sale with a 772. Yay! Where'...Jump to post

They only have 5 of them, and have only restarted using them on routes including JFK. Have they ever flown them regularly to SFO? Don't believe it's ever gone to SFO. We've gotten the 748, but never the A380. I think there's an answer for the OP - nup, no A380 likely. Best chance of getting to Kore...Jump to post
QF is returning to HND after 2.5 years tonight (12 Sep). VH-QPB is doing the honours. With fleet capacity the way it is right now, I'm quite surprised QF are still having the aircraft sit on the ground all day at HND, rather than using their evening arrival slot. Anyway, good luck to them!Jump to post
It will be interesting to see with the announcement coming up with UA, if EK will add more DXB flights to UA hubs. i would say , which hub will EK fly to and where would UA come from to DXB , if UA made a good calculation they can fill 3 daily from there 3 biggest hubs to DXB. I was on SQ241 the 7:15am departure to Sydney and was surprised by the number of indians on the flight (about 80%). The flight attendants were running around with stacks of vegetarian meals, way more than they usually would. Don’t underestimate the AM bank from India. By 6:20am, nine SQ or TR fligh...Jump to post

Note that Latin America to Asia flights are the cheapest if they transit the US/Canada. Not at all true actually. Currently planning a trip to South America, so I've been looking at TYO-SAO/RIO flights lately for next year and the cheapest to most expensive show ME3 (~$1100USD), EU3 (~$1500USD) and...Jump to post

News about passengers stuck in NRT due to the JQ issues too. Due to Japan's border restrictions, several passengers couldn't leave the terminal for 24 hours. I personally see them going with some more B787-9 or A350-900. These aircraft have the legs for routes like MEL-DFW or PER-FRA but can easily handle quick trips to Asia as well. Configured similar to the A330-300 now, it could be a winner. They could even add Premium Economy and still fit around 300...Jump to post
Would never have guessed I would ever read any kind of trip report featuring Xuzhou! What's everyones opinion on a possible EMB-120 replacement for Airnorth? Those birds are over 33 years old, with the oldest at 37 (???) with no public info on what they are planning yet. Apparently, EK has now recovered all it's pre-pandemic routes and frequencies Yeah, that's not true at all. True. I meant to Africa. Not globally. Okay, that makes a bit more sense. Anyone else notice that Air Canada will tend to "sit" on a route and it won't progress past once daily (unless it fits into some kind of hub policy or strategy they have)? This seems to be one of their approaches to driving yield. Like with SYD? Is there demand outside of a foreign hub/No...Jump to post
This is just a random render someone did at home and then posted on Facebook. It’s not the design. Correct It is just a photoshop someone dreamed up. I don’t understand the QF2 retime. The only thing I can think of is there aren’t enough staff to cover the 10pm departure, so brining it forward means there are staff at security / ground. QF is trying to work around the 100,000 passengers per day cap through Heathrow. Instead of passenger shedding...Jump to post
Definitely BA needs an update. For me, the dark blue underbelly doesn't really match the rest of the livery. I imagine if they do update, it'll be something like EI rather than IB. EK also isn't a bad livery, and not sure it needs an update yet, but I am interested to see what they do. Every aircraf...Jump to post
