Re: TAP Air Portugal's post COVID-19 crisis

I saw loaded also CUN for the autumn, hopefully no second wave coming :D = I just looked this up, and it is an extremely smart schedule. LIS (2355) - CUN (0605+1) CUN (1530) - LIS (0530+1) Seems like it allows their entire 60+ city European network to have the latest departure out of Europe, and ar...

Re: TAP Air Portugal's post COVID-19 crisis

I have said this over before, TAP has very good management, and it takes a while to turn 72 years of government run into profits in 3 years. However, like Portugal, I think TAP is vastly underrated. Kinda like how Portugal handled COVID versus Spain. Read up on the last few years of general politica...

TAP doesn't cater just to Spanish or Portuguese passengers. Cancún or Punta Cana DID NOT compete with Maldives/Seychelles in a good economy. But you can bet they will now and that's my point. The issue with AGA and CUN is that those destinations in the post-COVID world will be very affected. TAP is heavily capitalized by public funds. They are trying hard to overtake IB as the South-West European hub towards America. They indeed have a remarkable presence in USA and Africas. People forget that TP was unprofitable for the first 72 years of government control. With the huge capex in 2019, it still improved it's performance, showing the article is political spin. Give it a few years, and if they continue performing, TP will keep turning around.
