United restarts IAD-TLV tonight. UA72 departs IAD tonight at 6:05 PM and lands at TLV at 10:45 AM tomorrow.
Jump to postDoes anybody know the oldest US based A320? I know UA has some relatively old ones, maybe some ex NWA Delta birds as well.
Jump to postDidn't they just get revealed as the customer who ordered 40 A330NEO aircraft? Wonder how that's going to work out.
Jump to postIt seems UA is really stretching the limits of the 78X. I remember they operated IAD-PEK a few times, which is around 7000 SM.
Jump to postMost United flights out of MIA looking at $800 or more, for tomorrow.
Jump to postThis is almost comical. Austin is not getting any of these destinations anytime soon, regardless of growth.
Jump to postSeeing some 763's on the IAD-SFO route for this week. UA1763 today and on friday operated by a 763, last minute equipment swaps or are they flying them over to HKG for Polaris? Can't remember the last time we saw UA 767 passenger service to SFO.
Todays flight is operated by ship #6674.
B39M's are on the move from HOU/LAX to GYR. https://seekingalpha.com/news/3495250-united-moving-737-max-jets-short-term-storage#email_link Yes just updated today UA has received FAA approval to ferry all 14 MAX aircraft from there current locations at IAH, HOU, and LAX to GYR. Jump to postIs Avianca as a whole broke, or is it smaller "sub-airlines," such as Avianca Costa Rica, or Avianca Ecuador?
Jump to postWith this being said, will these 787's be sourced from another hub or are they counting on taking new deliveries in the meantime?
Jump to postHey all, United posted that they'll move or start their long awaited 787 base at ORD, according to their twitter. https://twitter.com/united/status/1166364998303719425 I wonder what routes? Maybe Asia? Starting with Europe and will add Asia later on. Also ORD will see all 3 variants of the 787. Sta...

Hong Kong is the world's 3rd largest business and financial centre after New York and London and it is a very important city. I am a bit surprised that ORD doesn't work. After all these mess I guess it will be back? It will most likely be back. UA seems to have almost a "no tolerance" pol...
Jump to postUA would like to have their JFK slots back, but theyre doing just fine in the NYC area without it, and better than Delta as the numbers prove. Which numbers are you referring to? I don't doubt that UA makes more money in the NYC area than DL, but I'm unaware of a hub-by-hub profitability breakdown ...
Jump to postWhat people don't realize is what DL is doing with two hubs in NYC, UA could do in one. That's what really sets the two airlines apart. As a matter of fact, UA doesn't even serve all 3 airports! They don't need to. UA would like to have their JFK slots back, but theyre doing just fine in the NYC ar...

A part of me feels as if this airline isn't even real in a sense. No real business model/structure, no real route strategies, etc etc. Find it amazing that they managed to make €283.76 million in the first place.
Jump to postAll this reporting of hiring people to oversee the MAX return to service, could just be smoke and mirrors, to raise the share price and try to install fake confidence in the public. I doubt Boeing are any closer to a fix, let alone certification. Doesn't appear that way at all. I think we'll see a ...
Jump to postWas just about to post this. Must be a pretty decent expansion from ORD, most likely in “retaliation” due to the latest AA news.

Did they only have the Max -9 on order previously?
Back in the day, UA used to fly to Kuwait, Qatar, and Dubai. Times change.
Jump to postLooks like UA scheduled a daily 777-200 between IAD-LAX from October 5, 2019 to January 5, 2020. Replaces a 737-900ER.

The loads must be pretty good for this to go daily!
Jump to postI'm sure this could easily change when United makes new ORD announcements but, for now, the difference in European seasonality and destinations total between AA and UA at ORD is astounding: AA: Year-Round: 1. London Seasonal: 2. Athens 3. Barcelona 4. Budapest 5. Dublin 6. Krakow 7. Paris 8. Prague...
Jump to postMy wife is stuck on the ground in RIC waiting to depart for IAD. She's supposed to connect to UA52 to ZRH. In a situation like this where many if not most connecting pax are delayed getting in, will UA generally hold departing flights to allow them to make the connection? Well dont leave us hanging...
Jump to postMultiple flights to EWR are diverting to IAD. 787-10 and 764 have already flown by my house.
Jump to postUA291 now diverting to CLE, B777-300ER SFO-IAD
UA340 ORD-IAD diverting to MDT (Harrisburg)
UA145 OPO-EWR diverting to Boston
UA17 LHR-EWR diverting to Buffalo
UA961 FRA-EWR diverting to BDL (Windsor Locks)
UA125 ATH-EWR diverting to Bangor
UA141 BCN-IAD diverding to MDT (Harrisburg)
Yep, looks like several flights to EWR are diverting as well, FX3012 OAK-EWR diverting, same with UA577 SFO-EWR.
Jump to postHey guys, pretty bad storms running through DC right now. Looks like all flights to IAD are diverting, such as UA291 SFO-IAD, UAL804 NRT-IAD, ASH 6010 MSY-IAD, and others.
UAL107 MUC-IAD also appears to be diverting.
EDIT: All flights to IAD and EWR appear to be diverting or in a holding pattern
The full name is: Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner, or Boeing 787-10. IATA and ICAO abreviations are B78X and 781, respectively. Who came up with 78J? I feel like half these codes come from A.net itself. I'm not sure how that happened. I thought it was going to be B78J at first, until I began tracking N140...
Jump to postWill DFW or CLT - ZRH ever work Swiss? Seems like LH does well from DFW and CLT, and ZRH is Financial hub, like DFW and CLT. DFW and CLT offer very little *A connections, unlike IAD. Jump to postSorry i'm a little out of the loop everyone, but what's the latest news with the MAX?
Jump to postlesfalls wrote:More then likely RSW is one of the two since the LH Group is taking EW off of their long haul ops.
I can definitely see them adding Dulles, from Nice it makes sense. And Primera (before they went bankrupt) have already proven that the aircraft has the range. But as stated above, their business model does indeed leave very little room for expansion.
Jump to postCool thread idea! We'll really start to get into the swing of things here soon as the NFL preseason starts on August eighth.
Jump to postHow do we know they won't just move the SIN flight over to HND? DL has a somewhat extensive Japanese network, so I would be shocked to see this one go.

Is London-New York the major city pair with the oldest average aircraft age, with UA and BA «leading» the way? Aircraft age doesn't really matter here. These 767's are essentially brand new aircraft from the inside, and from a regular non avgeek passenger viewpoint, you'd think the plane was brand ...
