If you can leave the terminal, the BART(Bay Area Rapid Transit) station at the airport provides some pretty good views.

the heat distortion is probably causing the softness, and unfortunately there is no way to fix that. its a cool photo though.

Well, what you should do is park in the SJSU parking lot adjacent to Coleman/Airport interesection, and then walk out near the fence. The road is above the fence so you wont have any obstruction.

Many of those shots are older, like years back. Standards have changed significantly in the years. Also, some shots work with it, but with side on shots, cutting off parts is not allowed here. Sorry

Depending on what side your on and what's parked at the stands, the garage tops can be ok. remember though that u can only view the stands, and there are obstructions. the runways will be out of reach as well.

upper half of the fuselage is grainy. Also, you loose quality due to heat haze. As it is now, I don't think it will make it.

Yes, it is sharp at the nose but gets progressively softer as it moves to the tail. Sharpen up the tail.

SFO isn't much good if you don't have at least 400mm of glass. Also, there isn't much of any place to spot inside the terminals, and whenever I seem to get a good shot, the windows leave this ugly green tint resulting in a color rejection. There is a great website for all the three bay area airports...
