I can't wait to see what the WN network will look like once the MAX7 arrives and they restore their network. More frequencies and more p2p dlights were due yesterday.
I'm shocked by how small Florida is compared to pre-pandemic levels.
Most of their routes resumed in 2021 from SJO were dropped, since the TA-AV merger in 2012: SJO-LAX, SJO-JFK, SJO-MIA and SJO-MEX. However, in the last 10 years other competitors rapidly entered to the same market. Let's analize the situation for Los Angeles - San Jose. LAX-SJO in 2012 as non-stop ...Jump to post

Spirit recently announced the opening of NK MIA-SJO, on a weekly basis. The airline is boosting the Central American service out of Miami: NK MIA-GUA 1x weekly, NK MIA-SAP 3x weekly and NK MIA-XPL 4x weekly. NK keep their [Ft. Lauderdale - Central America] flights, speaking about South Florida. MIA...Jump to post
Aeromexico is not increasing capacity, staying with 3 daily flights with E190. Volaris will increment to 2 daily to Mexico City and 2 daily to Cancun. Regards. I am only seeing CUN twice a day but not MEX if I try a dummy booking on Expedia. https://www.aviacionline.com/2021/12/volaris-redobla-su-a...Jump to post
So Avianca hasn't demonstrated interest into the GUA-MEX again, despite the demise of Interjet. This route is served by AM MEX-GUA and Q6 MEX-GUA. Do you guys think it’s possible to add the aircraft type when updating aircraft movements? If it’s a pain and not straightforward I totally get it, it’s just hard to follow.
Happy New Years everybody and thank you for your hard work on keeping everyone updated.

Actually the operation is even larger:

I don't know what other folks are finding but after looking around the schedules effective June 5, I'm seeing incredible flight counts on all of SAN's high-frequency routes: SAN-DEN - 7 weekday flts; SAN-LAS - 13 weekday flts; SAN-OAK - 12 weekday flts; SAN-PHX - 11 weekday flts; SAN-SJC - 16 weekd...Jump to post
Quick question on the BOS hub: it seems like not many connections are offered. Looking at flight radar, only a few flights every hour land and depart. Meaning it’s not a banked hub. I know it’s location makes it A bad connection point but even SEA has more flights per hour on certain times of the da...Jump to post
Isn't it funny that the MAX fix test flights were done on a MAX-7 yet it's been almost a year and the plane isn't certified?Jump to post
I honestly see CM and AV ordering the E2. Maybe Aeromexico in a few years. Having A320s flying intra Central American routes is an overkill. A higher frequency, more economical, lower capacity plane is the ideal approach.
The same applies to thinner Mexican and Latin American routes for AM and CM.
Something to add, at least in my personal experience, is that traveling has become much more flexible: no change fees, miles get reimbursed, and that just makes it easier. Most people have lost the fear of traveling and willing to book because they know they can change, upgrade, etc for whatever rea...Jump to post

Will the NGs get retrofitted? It’s also nice to see they are getting 8 more MAXs in the near future.Jump to post
Am I the only one who thinks this show was extremely underwhelming for Boeing?
Although, they did get massive orders from UA and WN earlier in the year.
I saw that flights to/from LHR were completely full yesterday. Any idea when we will see frequency bumps?Jump to post
Yes, JFK-MEX eligible for codeshare. I think to be competitive, they are probably going to have to go 2x here. There is enough demand in this market for that. Maybe they can bring back BOS-MEX on A220. Again, not sure about MEX slots. CF blog entry today https://crankyflier.com/2021/11/08/united-wa...Jump to post

18 daily regional jet flights from EWR-DCA is the equivalent of 5 daily-mainline flights. So capacity wise it’s not excessive.Jump to post
Any idea what happened at IAD/EWR yesterday? A friend of mine flew IAD-EWR, got delayed because of weather, spent two hours at the tarmac, returned to the gate, then landed at EWR 6 hours after scheduled departure, then waited an hour for a gate and the last cherry on top was that the luggage came o...Jump to post
A polished, elevated version of premium plus (service and hard product) should be more than enough for this kind of flight. Unrelated: do we know what United's schedule is for upgrading older aircract to the newer cabins? Just boarded one of the dumpy 739s with the old F seats and it got me wonderi...Jump to post
Don't forget IAH is a powerhouse to connect smaller Mexican destinations. There are several mainline flights to secondary Mexican cities that could probably never be served profitably from another UA hub. People can connect to most major cities in Latin America from IAH. Was 2 out of 2 for delayed flights yesterday. No communication anywhere on the reason for delays. Even on their website flight status section. Just show up to the gate and see a dark airplane, no gate agents, and "cute" slogans up on the TV monitors like "Oops! We are running late&qu...Jump to post
[twoid][/twoid] UA already expanded massively to Latin America. I don't really know what else they could add. They've already announced weekly ORD-GUA flights as well for December.
