Another Issue:

If I reupload these shots more sharpened they will get rejected for over sharpened, and at their current state there are already jaggies popping out of all edges. (Some of which I can't get of rid of even in post).

Lets calm down here. I bought the MK3, I'm happy with image quality, ISO, and all I need to do is tailor the AF settings for the 100-400L which has a rather slow AF.

I've had mine 3.5 years now and I sent mine to calibration. The shots are sharper now BUT Canon Switzerland made it back focus and can't correct it anymore. I think lens elements shift around after a few years of extensive use.

Nice motive, not too sharp which is a nice for a change, like Jwilson's and other bunch's work over at FM, but a.net likes a bit sharper then them.

Though as Rotate said, nose section (cockpit windows) is a bit soft.

Tough one... Get the 2.8 when your going to use the lens a lot next to aviation. If your only going to shoot planes then F/4 IS.
