My MCO/FLL/MIA based friends? Oh yeah, every trip. I'm completely here for your profile pic lol ... but .. Every trip? I think they may be exaggerating. I fly regularly for work, often to Florida, and haven't seen any of these issues. The fact is that the vast majority of flights (even to/from MCO/...Jump to post
I lived in North Texas for a number of years and found that the local and state police were very strict about enforcing speeding laws.
Now living in South Florida where speeding laws are not enforced unless one is really moving.

76 years old and 15 year maximum statutory sentence… should do the trick.
In FLL the Azul flight from Brazil would arrive at Terminal 4, be towed to a hardstand and then be towed to Terminal 3 for departure later in the evening.
Nowadays the flight still arrives at 4, is towed to the hardstand and then towed back to the same gate at 4 in the evening.
In the examples given, do the aircraft usually go straight to a departure gate or are they parked at a hardstand and then later moved to their departure gate?Jump to post
So have the weights actually increased? Passengers have got fatter over the pandemic? Or is this purely the extra weight of the extra fuel that's required to be loaded based on the passenger weights, if so then can it really have that much impact tankering a bit of extra fuel? Even the 50seat plane...Jump to post
I have noticed on the American Airlines website that many flight that have a long connection (over 6 hours) have a higher fare than flights with shorter connections and/or nonstops between the same city pairs. If the United States and China started going head to head over Taiwan I wonder what the possibility of using nuclear weapons would be especially if China was losing the battle?
Of course hope none of this ever happens.
Too bad that China just can't leave Taiwan alone to function as it's own independent country and/or work with them as a strong trading partner.Jump to post
I was dragged for saying this previously but I'll say it again. ULCC's attract a class of traveler that really should not be travelling. If there is any sort of hiccup or unexpected expense, they do not have the financial resources to handle it and they often lash out violently. Airports with a hea...Jump to post
I think it's very charming that she's doing this little routine. Doesn't hurt or affect anyone so I don't see any reason why she shouldn't do it Of course but I wonder why out of all the flights to and from CLT she picked this particular flight? Obviously she is smart enough to figure out when the ...Jump to post
Relatively easy for people in the skilled/certified worker category to do - not so much in the category these delivery drivers are in. The problem with automation is more skilled/certified workers will be needed and fewer unskilled. When you compete with an over-supplied talent pool, then wages are...Jump to post
I wonder if that lady that used to come out and sing to it when it landed is back too  Excuse me what? The Lufthansa Lady. I wonder at what point we are going to see a Russian plane accidentally or on purpose get shot down (in this area) by a NATO warship?Jump to post
I've been on a plane (BA 787) that had a wing lightning hit on final approach, just as the pilots started a go-around due to a sudden wind shift. I was looking right at it, too -- couldn't see a darn thing for several seconds afterwards. It didn't appear to have any significant effect, other than c...Jump to post
My mind is blown at some of the capacity airlines have been throwing at Miami lately. Copa Airlines is now operating nine flights a day to Panama City! On top of the daily to Fort Lauderdale. Viva Colombia is flying as many as four flights to Medellin on some days! It's nuts. None of that existed p...Jump to post
Stayed at the Microtel Hotel next to the Philadelphia airport last weekend and starting at 1130 PM people were drag racing their cars on the boulevard that runs next to the hotel. Can’t have two driver’s licenses and most rental car companies have your filed credit card info. I have two (2) valid driver's licenses. I carry one in each wallet I have. It acts as a back up in case I lose one. Same license, same number, etc, just an 'additional copy'. I carry my backup driver's ...Jump to post
Might not recommend that if renting a car is planned. If renting a car is planned, you're screwed no matter what. You obviously need your driver's license, but if they ask for your credit card and you left it in the check-in machine, you're equally screwed, short of going out to pay in cash. This week I flew on AA from Fort Lauderdale to Philadelphia and I mistakenly left my CC in the check in machine at FLL which I didn't discover until I arrived in PHL. Fortunately an AA employee found the card and had it cancelled right away. I am curious as to why the check in machine did not make a...Jump to post
A number of years ago I heard that Schinder Trucking was offering a deal where a truck driver that drove for them could choose an option to drive one full week and then be home and off the following week.
Not sure if that program is still in effect though.
A few AS nonstop flights between SEA and ANC depart between 3:00 AM Alaska Time and 5:00 AM Alaska Time, but flights departing from ANC between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM Alaska Time allow passengers to more easily connect to the Eastern U.S. from Alaska through SEA. ANC is also 1 hour behind SEA. Yeah, I...Jump to post

I'll definitely continue wearing them while flying. Long before COVID, it wasn't uncommon for me to come down with a cold shortly after flying in winter. Given how much AA has reduced its fleet (70 737-800s, all 757s, all 767s, all A330s, all E190s), what will be at the expense of all this planned "growth?" Chicago? Philadelphia? Washington? Los Angeles? Apart from PHL, AA has hubs in some pretty competitive markets. We keep hearing about ...Jump to post

AA has not "closed" their hub at PHX. Whether they close it in the future, I've not heard anything there. Regardless, I disagree. Going with WN, DAL to/from OKC. While WN had served OKC nonstop from DAL for almost 40 years, I probably do not expect WN to re-add DAL-OKC nonstop service anytime soon as the PDEW of DAL-OKC was only 28 passengers per day in 2019.
