The load factors on DFW-ABI are well above the Envoy system average (both for all aircraft and for the ERJs specifically) so you can't possibly call them subpar loads. SJT does have a marginally higher year-round load factor at 82.23%, but with a lot more variability across the year compared to ABI...

I'm hearing that Via has shut down. I had a friend who was going through simulator training for them in Houston and they were all abruptly told to go home today and that the airline was done. I don't have specifics, but I certainly don't think anyone is surprised by this.

All of Delta's and United's flights tonight are canceled. All of American's flights are operating as scheduled. Sometimes it pays to be the biggest in a destination.

Glad I already have private transport arranged to the hotel! Will make sure to stay away from the Plaza de Mayo tomorrow.

The times are typically reported via ACARS, and that is based on parking brake. In reality, it's got some inherent logic built in (weight-on-wheels, doors closed), but for all intents and purposes, it's when we release or set the parking brake.

I know most everyone at this event. The optics are poor, but there is nothing intentionally disrespectful about this.

We're not required to have them on in cases where it could hinder visibility. It's also just a courtesy to your fellow pilots not to turn in bright flashing white lights that can ruin night vision. They don't serve much purpose on the ground, we have other lights for that.

I still find it somewhat sad that UA's brand new business class hard product represents no better than the 3rd best J product AA offers.
