Re: Runaway cart at ORD, saved from hitting plane by ground crew (video)

For me it looks like the out of control cart hit the a/c on the last round before it was stopped. It looks like it hit the landing gear doors slightly. Anyone else saw this? I believe it hit the aircraft as well, albeit a light glancing blow, right after the guy says that it's going to hit the plan...

Why does such a switch even exist in the first place? I assume this would only be used when descending below a certain altitude instead of ascending above it.

Re: Should United bring back the Tulip?

Here's a good livery. Cold, minimalist, monochromatic. Don't even need to change the text and font. LCC almost. AND NEW! And easy ID. Don't fly the airline with the blue tail! http://www.airline-empires.com/uploads/gallery/album_576/med_gallery_23562_576_363033.png That's a great look...

RE: Asiana OZ162 Runway Excursion At Hiroshima

I lived in Hiroshima for 6 years and used that airport regularly (around 8 times a year) and I know that RWY28 is a VOR DME approach. Judging from NHK news reports, one of the engines hit "a structure" around 300m from the runway, and was destroyed, while the plane had asymmetric thrust. Though the ...

Wow! I remember that flight is a Continental metal.

The KLM flight also took on fuel to travel to Los Rodeos instead of Las Palmas so that the aircraft would not need to refuel at Las Palmas to save time. The full fuel load also contributed to the huge loss of life.
