My experience is limited but all 4 AA flights I've ever been on were comfortable (3x A321 1x MD80) and enjoyable (good IFE, friendly FAs and the FO that took a picture of me in the MD80 cockpit).
So put me as a yes, and I even work for a competitor.

Where would the extra tank go? Cargo hold? Tail? Elevators? Its not like a widebody where you have cavernous room.
Disclaimer: I am very excited for this news and I love the A220. I am genuinely curious how this mod will work.
I was in 3rd grade and didn't learn about what happened until I got home from school. My brother was in 8th grade and told me airplanes hit the twin towers and I wasn't sure what he meant. We then turned on CNN and had it on the rest of the day. My mom came home from work distraught since she told a...Jump to post
Officially hates Saints kicker Will Lutz. But I like Drew Brees too much to let it consume me and it was a really good game even though I only caught the last 3 minutes on tv, I was following it on my phone on the drive back from the mountains today. It was a great weekend topped off with a ve...Jump to post
Do a search on the investor....it gets a little interesting. “Michele Ballarin” She has a real estate license. She is referred to by Iceland newspapers as an “arms dealer” and she was involved in a sketchy Somali airline. https://paxex.aero/2019/07/wow-air-redux-michele-ballarin/ Did anyone else ju...Jump to post
With HND still bring more restricted than NRT, AA, and UA for that matter, will still send traffic to both airports. HND will see more O&D, while NRT will see more connections on big birds. I.e. 787s to HND and 77Ws to NRT. AA and UA can leverage connections at both airports, as well as Tokyo's ...Jump to post
I hate commenting on Trump threads but it's disappointing to see the leader my home nation trying to negotiate with terrorists.
Just pull out of Afghanistan but leave around the clock drone strikes and call it a day.
What spell has Mitsubishi cast upon Mesa to get this? Mesa has a large fleet of 175s that is getting larger and the E2 would make more sense. I guess buying the supply chain for the CRJ paid off for Mitsuibishi! Im not bashing the MoU, in fact I'd love to see more orders from underdog planes like th...Jump to post
Highly trained humans with thousands of hours of experience can barely operate a flying machine without killing someone.
And the average human can barely operate a car in 2 dimensions, i dont think they will be able to operate an aircraft in 3 dimensions.
Back at my previous airline we had both factory new CEOs and a couple of old A320s (circa 1990 MSN ~140). I remember one of those frames still flying back in 2013, which was bought by Airbus and leased back to the airline on a very good deal (pay by the hour I think) and it was used basically as a ...Jump to post
F9/NK and AS/B6 make the most sense. F9/NK for having the same business model and minimal overlap. AS/B6 obviously have cohesive networks to make a solid combined carrier. Maybe even throw SY to have a midcon hub in MSP. A combined AS/B6/SY will have enough critical mass to establish their own TPAC/...Jump to post
I smell a troll but I'll bite. Airliners.net is just a name. This site has photos going back to the early days of flight and is a haven for all aviation enthusiasts from all over the world. There are even pictures of the Space Shuttle and rocket launches here. Plus no one says you have to look at on...Jump to post
If/when Interjet goes under, would it be blamed on bad business model? Incompetence? SSJ?Jump to post
I always thought that the IL62 column was pretty cool. Comes out from the panel which allows more pilot comfort and the tiller is integrated to the column. You could taxi the plane like driving a car in essence.
See it here at 3:30:
I used to have different songs used as ringtones for different groups. Work was Hell's Bells by AC/DC. Family was Crazy Train by Ozzy. For friends I had Difficult to Cure by Rainbow. I had a special song for the boss. Born in the USA, performed by, well, The Boss. Any number not in these groups was...Jump to post
I flew on my one and only AA MD80 yesterday on AA1617 OMA-DFW. The first thing i noticed was that the tabs on the window shades said "MCDONNELL DOUGLAS" on them. Probably my favorite detail! And i noticed instantly how high pitched the engines were. Me and my buddy moved further back by th...Jump to post

With 189 pax it would be borderline but I suspect it can be done. DEN-HNL is about the same distance and flying time as CDG-BOS and shorter than CDG-EWR which Primera used to fly with the A21neo. The hot and high characteristics of DEN shouldn't be a problem for the NEO because of the long runways....Jump to post
I remember reading here that one user said he worked for an airline and would get on airliners.net during work. Then the head of corporate security met him and greeted him by his a.net username.
I work for an airline and I will never log on here using my company's computers.

I saw Continental in many facets as a customer, son of employees, vendor, and nonrev; and yes it's true that they were on the decline just before the merger. Not a big decline (probably would've been an average carrier if the merger didn't happen), but a decline nonetheless. I didn't know too much a...Jump to post
Assuming these are adds for next summer's long haul schedule, I'll throw out a few guesses: SFO-DUB (789) SFO-FCO (772) DEN-CDG (788) ORD-DUS (763) ORD-TLV (772) EWR-SVQ (752) EWR-PMO (763) Agree SFO-DUB. Lots of tech traffic. UA seems yo be chasing the high yield SFO-Europe traffic. I'd argue to s...Jump to post

Perhpas we'll finally see EWR-ICN?
ZRH would be another DEN route I'd love to see.
Lol United also ordered 787s before the merger. Through the merger, United thought it was prudent to use the 787 primarily over the Pacific to help supplement and eventually augment the 744 as well as open interior China, which hindsight is 20/20 and it wasn't until after having a hard time with tha...Jump to post
When was Chipotle ever on top? The best burrito chains are Uburrito and Bullritos in Houston. Being from Houston I, like Mr. NIKV, a fellow southwesterner, know Mexican food. I took the red eye from SFO-IAH on CO after being up almost all day and driving from Sacramento. I have a slightly different read than some here. My take is that any addition of PTV's are going to initially target the PS routes and maybe more of an extension of that fleet to make improvements in some other markets like BOS-SFO/LAX in addition to EWR-LAX/SFO. We already have a partial internati...Jump to post
Better rail connection to Tokyo would make it more attractive. When ever I arrive in NRT I take the $8 bus to Tokyo Station, instead of getting lost hopping 3 trains for an hour and a half for $15 or the Narita Express for $40. NRT could be very attractive for the entire northern Kanto region is the...Jump to post
