Re: Ryanair: end of free carry-on. The last straw?

This is an easily anticipated measure which will be followed by more airlines. You could question if it's fair that people have to pay for such luggage, but in general this will improve the flight experience greatly. Less trolleys = faster security check / faster boarding / more space in the bin abo...

Re: More Ryanair problems: huge winter schedule cuts

The SOF cuts may have to do with the delays, last winter the weather was very bad causing a lot of delays (snow snow snow). Still for SOF this is bad news, Air BG is doing horribly bad, and FR & W6 are cutting services. Hope to see some good alternatives emerging there.

Re: Boeing targets Bombardier for “price dumping” CSeries

Honestly I think Boeing should tolerate the Cseries since Airbus has more to lose than Boeing (the 737-8 is a 175 person jet, the A320 a 150 person jet, in single class configs). The Cseries competes with A318s, A319s. And a further stretch would compete with A320s but not exactly with 737-8s. The ...

That will be a big blow for DUS. I guess Condor may take up some long-haul holiday routes, Eurowings will seriously consider the canabalization of their CGN hub with any route opening from DUS. Seems AZ is moving in the direction of a take-over / partnership with FR. They already move some ops to an FR hub, and coincidentally a hub they want to offer flight transfers out of.

Maybe behind the curtains something is taking shape here, much like the LH/AB take-over

Re: Ryanair "treated badly" at Warsaw Chopin

Cheap costs money. In CLJ I was surprised they parked the WIZZ aircraft at the outer end of the airport whilst the main apron to the terminal was empty at most times. I guess it's a result of paying as less as possible. Some airports badly need the traffic and will do anything to keep an airline fly...
