IMO, if such a system is ever implemented it would be as a back-up to the traditional "wired" system. This is not a bad idea at all, it is just a matter of time for it to be developed at a low cost and be efficient.

How do Air Traffic Controllers get to the tower each day? Do they have some type of transportation vehicle that shuttles them to the tower? Also, where do they go through security?

Sadly, Broadway has turned much of its attention towards producing musicals that are based on their big-screen counterparts (ex: Hairspray, Footloose, Wedding Singer, Spamalot, etc.). Yes, I actually happened to see the FA make the announcement. She was standing directly in front of the flight deck door and seemed to be peering down the aisle to the back of the plane. Thanks for the reply!
