The A338’s operating costs are too close to the A339’s. It makes more sense just to buy A339s and “abuse” the frame on thinner routes and go out with empty seats than purchase the A338. For the A350 to hit the A310 capacity it would have to be the shortest and most stubby aircraft on the market. It would be massively inefficienct with the nose and tail tapers taking up so much of the length with a relatively short cabin. The A350 nose and tail tapers are around 15 metres. Only a 3...
