Re: Air China pilots depressurize plane accidentally to smoke in cockpit

As an aside, does (either officially / unofficially) a crew (or cleaning crew) do anything if they smell cigarette smoke when they take over? Given how it seems to hang around, I can't imagine the next flightcrew wouldn't notice.

Don't know, but just saw it (A350) over the harbour about half an hour ago - looked stunning in the sunlight.

RE: A350 Production And Delivery Thread Part 13

Off-topic a bit, but wouldn't it make sense to outfit the entire aircraft as economy, then refit when the business seats are ready? Seems odd that an AN124 can be chartered to replace an engine cowl to keep an A380 in service, but it's acceptable to delay into service an entire aircraft for months j...

Yes, did this a few years ago, Vancouver all the way to Toronto, non-stop.

Loved it, was a great time and had managed a cheap 'section' with all meals paid for - definitely a great trip.

Would recommend splitting it in two or three bits in hindsight.

Mach 4.5 = 5500 km per hour = 1530 metres per second Allowing half hour to accelerate then the other to decelerate (1800 s + 1800 s) So from 0 to 1530 m/s in 1800 s is only 0.85 ms-2 So compared to g (9.8 ms-2) that's only 1/10 gravity. Compared to acceleration at takeoff of 0 to 150 knots or 78 ms-...

Flying intra-europe must mean getting home for dinnertime most days so a pretty good job I'd guess - quite a bit of competition to fly these ....?

Perhaps there could be two separate, ones, one in Europe and one in North America, each in their respective summers - having to cross the Atlantic would no doubt put a lot of people off attending. And for me, that would provide an excellent excuse to visit both Vancouver and Toulouse in the same year.
