Re: AA, PVU to PHX and DFW

I live between SLC and PVU, and am really excited by this. A legacy carrier with a comprehensive connection network and multiple daily flights is a massive win for PVU. The only thing stopping me from using that airport all the time is the limited number of destinations and sub-daily frequency on mo...

It is unlikely, but when HA ordered the A321s, I wondered if they might try something like a small scissor hub at an airport like OAK. There is nothing to stop them from operating within the mainland states. Imagine 4 planes on routes from 4 mid-size mainland cities, timed to hub at OAK, and distrib...

Re: Salt Lake City to Europe growth

As a local in SLC, I don't sense much demand to DUB or Ireland in general. But I've never looked closely at it. Among leisure destinations, my sense is that there would be more untapped demand in Scandinavia, perhaps to CPH, but I doubt it is viable except as a low-frequency charter. SLC service to ...

For US domestic: maybe ATA, and their Chicago Express regional operation. I flew them on MSP-MDW-IND and return in 2004.
International: Aerosvit/Aerosweet. Flew them one-way SVO-KBP in 2001, after visa issues forced a change from the scheduled UN (Transaero) DME-KBP flight.

I have a pretty good list of interline connections, but will skip that for now.

Among the aircraft that have been in broad service during my adult life, the A340 remains conspicuously absent from my log. I fear that I may never get one at this point. BYU took a DL A321 PVU-BOI and return. It appears that the aircraft positioned from MSP, and the return flight then headed out to ATL. So MSP-PVU-BOI and BOI-PVU-ATL. Per IMDB's list of filming locations, the movie was filmed at a variety of locations in Switzerland, a few spots in Arizona, and at the MGM lot in Culver City, CA.
