Re: Would anybody like to talk about computer monitors?

Based on my issues with receiving lots of soft & blurry rejections, I'd be interested to hear others' input about monitors with regards to detail/sharpness . I will give a little background of where I'm at and why: I've been editing and uploading photos since 2006 - so I'm not new or one who th...

What are the growth opportunities for narrow-body long-haul once IB starts to operate the A321XLR? IB & TAP used to have a competitive advantage being able to fly the A319/20 to ACC, SSG, TMS and LOS where other European carriers would need to send widebodies to reach Central and Western Africa...

Noise isn't the problem. You're too distant so it's simply down to atmospheric haze, you should get closer and also try during morning/evening when atmospheric/light conditions are better.

Re: Nikon Peeps: 24-120 vs 24-70

I've had both, 24-120 is good at the wide end but softish beyond 80mm especially at corners but it makes a great walkaround lens for travel as it's quite versatile and not very heavy. AF is good for a lens in this range and VR does a good job too. 24-70 2.8G is excellent but latest Tamron and Sigma ...

When resizing the image in PS in the resampling option try to use Bicubic (smooth gradients) instead of Bicubic Sharper (reduction) as in some cases that can introduce oversharpening.

Re: Nikkor 80-400 vs 70-200

80-400G has a lot of quality variations between samples, I had one and was never happy with its performance especially from 300mm as it tended to be quite soft for a lens in that price range but I know a couple other people who are happy with it. If you already own a 200-500 I think the 70-200 would...

Re: Are picture profiles important in still photography?

At least for Nikon cameras the picture control profile used only affects how your out of camera JPG looks like and doesn't affect RAW exposure at all. However if you enable D-lightning, a sort of in-camera HDR feature, it'll cause your RAW to be underexposed around -1EV compared to normal mode. In v...

Iberia is simply taking over I2 routes because the pilots agreement is that I2 is capped to 15% of the ASK production and with most of the long haul flying gone this means Iberia needs to take a bigger chunk of the short haul flights.

It's really difficult to judge sharpness at such high PPI count, you can try to zoom at 200% in Photoshop but that will bring other issues as each pixel will be a block of 4 pixels in the screen.

From my experience I think you'd better off getting an external monitor that offers around 90-110PPI.
