Incidentally, on another issue, it was mentioned that when the initial works for the new runway are being put in place, among the work planned is new spectator facilities; we won't be forgotten about. (Hopefully, they will know that these will need to be south of the field and face north!) ...

Flew on an Aer Lingus B737-200 back in 1982 from Rhodes to Dublin, it was a Charter flight, not scheduled, Great Circle distance of 2024 nm and the flight took 5 Hrs 2 Mins, about the same as Dublin to St John's Newfoundland without the water !

For the young ones among you, the 707-400 was the Rolls Royce of the 707's, ie it was powered by Rolls Royce Conway engines and operated by BOAC, Varig and Air India and maybe others but I can't remember just now
