As I said, this topic has been widely discussed and to be honest I do not see any benefit in discussing the intentions of an old article.

But to answer your question: The author was obviously pro-Boeing. However we lerned about DL's 797 intentions only later after the order.

This topic has been widely discussed in several threads.

In the meantime DL has said that they are interested in becoming 797 launch customer.

I think they will simply order the aircraft which fits best to their current needs and has the right price tag on it.
