We'll see single or no pilot airliners due to advances in AI both in the aircraft and the ATC system. Electric propulsion or at least electric supplemented propulsion will have gained a foothold.

I know talk of mergers/acquisitions are near anathema for some on this sight, but...it seems like a WN/AS union could have significant benefits for both parties. Not least of which would be an immediate, and fairly large, presence for WN in Hawaii; a market that some believe is saturated.

It's possible. Different airlines have different rules about such things. Too many variables to say for certain. I'd say if you know a member of the crew, you're more likely to have that experience if/when the opportunity presents itself.

WN does utilize a dual boarding bridge in ALB although not for the -800. Flights to BUR get a ramp to the fwd entry door and stairs to the aft entry door. I'm in Oak Park, due west of down town Chicago. Lots of helicopter traffic through the vfr corridor that runs east-west right over head. Chinooks, Blackhawks, jetrangers, the usual a-stars/ twin stars and even a flight of 4 which included a lynx. Very cool!
