IMO, the appearance of the 787 makes it look smaller than it is; in photos it looks like a big A320 but when you see how big the people are; you realize that it really is massive. Whilst the 800 is definitely more beautiful, in my opinion, than anything airbus has made (not that appearance matters!)...
