The schedule is set in stone with regards to the -88. They have told the pilots that there will be no more -88 departures out of NYC and the aircraft will be centralized into CVG and ATL. According to an article in today's USA Today it appears that DL's holiday service to RSW that operates from 12/22 - 1/2 will return on 2/17 and become year round Saturday/Sunday service.
