Re: Boeing 777X - Updated Information And Developments

Here is a shot of the ‘standard’ GE90, not the larger GE90-115B, next to a 737 fuselage, so imagine what a GE9X will look like? :o http://z3.ifrm.com/46/112/0/p333759/PW4090vs737.jpg I wonder if the thrust rating will be bumped even further? Also, pardon the ignorance, but is the MLG on the 777X th...

Re: Is DL ready for the A350?

Delta has been flying A330s on long flights for a long time. A330 at HKG, 2009: http://cdn-www.airliners.net/photos/airliners/4/7/9/1549974.jpg Delta / NWAC have a strong opportunistic tradition. Few expected them to e.g. move to 767's to China or cancel their 787's. While the A350 seems destined f...

Re: OSL to get new cargo terminal for shipping of seafood

While I realize that cargo carriers want to carry as much goods on both arriving and departing flights to Norway, it really is a shame that all those tons of fish need to be trucked to OSL. The fish would ideally be flown from closer to where it's produced, say TOS, EVE, BOO, TRD, BGO, SVG. I believ...

The average speed was certainly not 1240,8 km/h. The picture shows the groundspeed at 670 kts at one point en route, yes, but that does not make the average speed 670 kts. The ignorance of journalists once again shines through... To find the average speed you need to find the distance travelled and ...

AFAIK, the pmUA 77Es were upgraded to the 656KLbs MTOW, highest available for the 77E, and same as the GE pmCO 77Es.
The GE90 might have slightly better fuel burn than the PW4090, but the pmUA birds should do the job just fine.
