Don Carty probably regrets not ordering more 763s in 2002. Now AA is stuck buying expensive 788s. Why would Don Carty care? He hasn't been with AA since 2003. Further, even if they had ordered them back then (with what money? The whole US airline industry was hurting severely in 2002), they'd still...Jump to post

What is with this obsession with BOS? I can’t imagine anyone is really making money here. In my view, it's kind of like a smaller scale LAX. BOS is the biggest CSA in the U.S. to not have a significant legacy airline hub, and as a consequence the market is fragmented. Historically almost all the le...Jump to post
As I said in the other thread before it was deleted for some reason, these routes are going to get bloody. AUSBOS will have four carriers offering ~1000 seats in a market that currently is around 500 PDEW with limited flow opportunities. And that’s assuming no competitive response. SJC might be a l...Jump to post
I wonder if this PHX-LGA is more of a demonstration flight (return of thr MAX tour) type of thing. It’s a once weekly (Saturday for less than a month type of thing). So a bit odd. AMS apparently will also be getting the 332 instead of ZRH. No this is the peak spring break season and flying on Satur...Jump to post
After seeing American's extra midnight flight bank over Thanksgiving Sunday, I began thinking about why there aren't regularly scheduled red-eye flights between IAH/DFW and Northeast US airports like DCA/IAD/BWI/PHL/LGA/EWR/JFK/BOS. A red-eye like DFW-DCA would probably be a bit short, but I think ...Jump to post
Far too close to DTW. The same could be said about the location of Melbourne to Orlando or Dayton to Cincinnati. There are quite a few developments going on right now and it would be interesting to see if they could eventually support their own market a few times per week on a 50 seat CRJ or E145. ...Jump to post
Some unexpected additions IMHO. CLT-MVY is a head scratcher for me, especially with the addition of PHL-MVY. Connecting people... lots and lots of people go to MVY and ACK during the summer and connecting at LGA and DCA is a waste of what they could sell to O/D traffic... AA has been flying CLT ACK...Jump to post

Well in my search for February airport, an anomaly came up from Delta and thought it was quite interesting! For just the weekend of the Daytona 500, Delta is flying a 717 from DTW-DAB and i will post the details below: DTWtoDAB DL8811 Fri, Feb 14 flight details 8:10 pm DTW Detroit, MI journey durati...Jump to post

Guess that’s why the Q400 is killing the ATR in sales... no wait, actually it’s not. They are slow... time is money... jets are fast... happy business people I've flown porter from EWR to YTZ and AA from JFK to YYZ, both were morning departures and the jet is probably like 10-20minutes faster in th...Jump to post
This is quite the uptick in flights. AA seems to continue growing nicely in the Southeastern US. They've added a slew of seasonal flights to EYW as well. Can the current terminal handle the added activity? Its once a week service, they just spread the flights out through the day to make it work, on...Jump to post
I am quite surprised that B6 isn't using the 321 on the JFK route to pick up the slack that AA is dropping. Possibly not 321 ops year round, but during big events on either ends of the markets or seasonal upgauges. What route Lol screwed that up. JFK-AUS AA beefed up that route recently if I recall...Jump to post
I don't know if this is being discussed anywhere else on here but I think this is an interesting take on how to jumpstart Moxy and swap out old E175s with some Azul 190s, they hold the same type rating so it should be impossible to do but like I said, an interesting take... AA as of right now is pretty limited is correct for international expansion until they get more gates to work with, CLT-ATH comes to mind in potential new seasonal routes, year-round ones would be like CLT-AMS and ZRH I don’t think CLT-ATH would come before JFK-ATH. I also think DL resuming ATL-ATH...Jump to post
I think that they can still consider adding a few more underserved markets in the North East and South East, in the North East markets such as ALB, SYR, ROC, BUF, SWF, BDL and MDT, and in the South East markets such as SAV, HHH, MLB, ...look at what small markets on the East Coast that they are sti...Jump to post

A332s can depart B, they usually have the seasonal short range narrowbody flights like MCO/PUJ/PHL out of B I'm sure you mean A321s, not A332s, right? As of earlier this year, yes, A321s can use the low terminal B gates. Before that they couldn't. AA has never sent an A332 through DFW. At least not...Jump to post

Sorry if this was already discussed. How many new gates will AA be getting @ CLT & DFW....and WHEN? AA received 15 new gates at DFW at the satellite terminal in E. LGA-DAB is not catering to connections, CLT takes care of that. It is aimed at the local market. It may grab some connections but it is not the bulk of the route. They aren't expanding folks... skyclub is a nice touch though, it would be tough for DL to get anymore traffic out of CLT as it is AA has contracts that are for many many years and it would be very difficult for them to try to steal pax from that, although i do see CLTBOS on DL to compete with B6......Jump to post
ok my quick thoughts to adress things in here 1: the 757 will be most likely moved to off market TCONs like MIA/LAS PHL/LAS MIA/SFO 2: AA has about 10 built 737MAXs built that need to be rolled out and who knows how long this will go on 3: the LUS 757s will be gone by the end of this year 4: DFW KEF...Jump to post

MIA VVI i believe is being suspended due to the MAX issues with no end in sight on that and the South american economy in a "Meh" form right now, they need those jets elsewhere, LPB didn't make them money and VVI is proving to be the same, they need the max to reinstate these routes and th...Jump to post

If AA launches a third Athens, it would be from JFK. PHL, ORD and JFK. DFW - ATH would never happen in my opinion. I'm sure you people said the same about DFW-AMS and DFW-FCO.
