Jet2 don't have a big network of expensive retail outlets to feed the tour operation. Instead they work with the retail travel trade of other companies and of course their own website distribution channel.Jump to post
So, is it confirmed that EEH & EEK are the two unfortunate frames that will meet a premature end ? I wouldn't say it's confirmed just yet, but most of the rumours are pointing to those two. My initial suspicions about it being EEJ were proven wrong because it returned to commercial service, pre...Jump to post

Iran Air could have used these planes. I'm sure they would but we all know why that can't happen. It does seem the shady back-door deals to get used airliners to Iran has been blocked for now, shame that this is. Mahan etc would love the ex-EY and VS A346's for example to add to the ones they got v...Jump to post
Another question, based on the number of A380's that EK has, if they start scrapping for parts that ultimately make an a/c not flyable, do they have adequate boneyard space? At DWC, certainly, at DXB - no. However not sure if EK want the image of their planes being parted out locally to be circulat...Jump to post
No one, most certainly not EK, will be flying the A380 in 25 years. It is too big today, and will be far too big and inefficient then, with no supporting mass as the 747 enjoyed. You're far more likely to find an A340 flying 25 years after production. So why does Emirates park young planes instead ...Jump to post
I just checked LHR - HKG availability for the next few days on Galileo and most flights are wide open for bookings, only a few premium cabins sold out on a few flights. So they can start by chopping 2 of their LHR flights to start with. Might make more money leasing out the slots over the winter.Jump to post
Interesting choice of leisure routes, for what I understood from past threads on here about them, was going to be a business traveller target airline. MFM & DAD are already well served from ICN but they'll have the PEN route to themselves. Starlux is based in Taiwan not Korea. These routes will...Jump to post

The Korean LCC's are also reducing NRT flights due to the economic spat currently between Japan & Korea. So I would have thought NRT will have loads of slots free this winter and beyond. Maybe an increase in Chinese airlines to NRT, for example those that go to HND in the dead of night could tra...Jump to post
I'm surprised Asiana Cargo haven't ordered a few 748F's to replace their 744BCF's. Wasn't there some regulation in Korea about not operating aircraft more than 20 years old that was passed a while ago ? Asiana appears to be literally fighting for its life: https://www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic....Jump to post
A government meddling in how to run an airline ? That's never a good idea ! The Thai govt should see what disasters that brings to national carriers ! ( SA, AI to name but two...)Jump to post
As an aviation enthusiast, I rejoice in that an airline like HiFly is able to put to great use second hand A380's and other widebodies. Surely far better than seeing them cut up for scrap. And this goes against the majority on here that think the used A380 market is non-existant. HiFly should be in ...Jump to post
From the BBC news - whatever the FAA decides EASA won't accept :
Thought it would be interesting to have a thread for UK aircraft retirements. This is what I have so far. Any updates, corrections or additions were appreciated. British airways- A319- older examples are currently being withdrawn, 15 more are due to leave by the end of 2020 744- to be retired by 20...Jump to post
This is just a winter season adjustment, flights will be back up to daily from start of summer 20 season.Jump to post
I had clients just come back from a tour & beach holiday there and they reported having an amazing time, absolutely loved all aspects of the trip.
Had no issues at all, in fact locals went above & beyond for them.
Maybe RDU will go to BA and take over the AA flight.Jump to post
About time too...I hope WW has kicked them out. BA is a far worse airline under their leadership.
So many negative customer service impacts over the years and this latest flight-cancelled-flight-reinstated malarkey over the upcoming strikes takes the piss with their suffering passengers.
Not the 200th frame, there are quite a number of skipped MSNs. MSN 18 shows "on order", MSN's 24, 37, 53, 60, 91, 97, 104, 118, 129, 185, 196, 212, 245, 246, 260, 261 (out of 263 as of today) have been skipped. So, MSN 200 is the 188th built. Can someone explain to a newbie why they skip ...Jump to post

Seems Norwegian are really overstretching their 787 fleet this summer. LGW already has 3 leased-in aircraft doing their flights and the HiFly A380 is currently operating their JFK-MAD schedule. Presumably today's DI7015 has gone tech as I don't see any weather-related issues for New York today. Have...Jump to post

Sorry - sent last post too quick before I finished - a little thank you 747-400 for 28 years service at NRT up on the top floor in T1 so knowing Japan I'm sure there will be commemorative exhibition to thank DL for their time there.Jump to post
It's going to feel mighty strange spotting there in future without tons of DL widebodies and 757's pouring in every afternoon. I would expect cargo and regional LCC's to take up most of the freed slots. When the last DL 744 went, they held a nice little " thank you 747 "Jump to post
With their joint venture with delta, they can have passengers connect in jfk and Atlanta now to head there. What an awful thought ! Far easier to connect via BGI or ANU on LIAT, meaning arrival into SLU rather than UVF which also saves that dreadful road journey from UVF and it's far closer to many...Jump to post
TG doesn't need B779, so if any Boeing planes it will be B787s. Since when has TG used common sense or commonality to determine their fleet composition? Lol, indeed. Perhaps they should order some A380s. Oh, wait . . . ! TG have previously stated they are happy with their A380's so could they make ...Jump to post
