Would they want to try CRK instead? There’s probably more slots available there, and it’s not too far from Manila.
Can they use the plane to fly to another destination in the meantime, instead of just sitting on the tarmac for 12 hours? Say a tag-on to Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Xiamen, or Clark?

DTW itself may not have much traffic to/from MNL, but there’s a lot of connecting passengers from the Midwest who fill up those planes. Maybe they’ll be funneled through MSP or even SEA?
