None of the ME3 countries, no Arab country except Egypt or Jordan actually, recognizes the existence of Israel or has formal diplomatic relations so their airlines can’t fly there...

GRU is 400nm further than EWR. Depending on how close EWR is to the edge of the ULR’s performance in SQ’s configuration that may not necessarily be a “marginally further” distance. That is approximately another hour in flight. It's worth pointing out that SIN-EWR is a longer route than the gc route...

My reais are on GRU. SQ has served the route in the very recent past which indicates a lucrative market. The very circuitous routing via BCN and the Brazilian recession did not help. However, the route should work now with a nonstop. Lots of business traffic to SIN and the rest of Asia.

I noticed that UA has seasonal service from ORD to FAI, but no flights from the western hubs (LAX, SFO, DEN). Is there a particular market from ORD but not from the West Coast? Most Alaska tourism is by cruise but FAI is very far inland. How are loads and yields on ORD-FAI usually?

If this works could QF try a SYD-JFK-LAX-SYD routing on the 787 if PER-LHR works? Flying SYD-JFK eastbound would be shorter with the strong tailwinds though westbound seems unrealistic for now.

People here mention that HKG-SIN would be convenient for connecting from the East Coast as it’s shorter than going via LAX or SFO. Main reason is ATL is to DL what DFW+CLT+MIA are to AA. Having more than a single hub in the South/Southeast gives AA much more flexibility.

Awesome. I’ve been calling for this for years, makes sense given the India traffic.

However I don’t understand why they keep EWR-ATH and JFK-MXP. Seems like they are charging very cheap fares on these and could improve yields and connectivity with an all-nonstop 3x JFK 2x EWR operation.
