Re: Chicago Aviation - 2024

I’m glad I’m not the only one that sees that without S2, the entire program is a loss of gates for the airport overall. I’d rather have a functional usable airport setup for real growth than an architect’s starry eyed vision that maintains the status quo. I highly doubt S2 will get done in any reas...

Re: Chicago Aviation - 2024

This was posted on the Southwest thread. WN has reduced frequencies on the following routes ORD- AUS/BNA/BWI/DAL/DEN/LAS/MCO/PHX and has cut TPA and RSW. I’m assuming this has less to do with performance than it does the lack of aircraft deliveries expected this year. It's due to the 40 or so less ...

When reviewing gate allocation, it’s important to keep in mind alliance partners that are anticipated to use the new facilities at ORD. Presumably this will include Lufthansa, ANA, BA, Iberia, JAL and Aer Lingus. Perhaps a few other alliance partners. It may get crowded pretty quickly without S2. U...

I'll find it very interesting to see what the airlines (not just UA and AA) are willing to give up to keep it on budget as they're the ones setting the limit on how much will be spent. As the old saying goes, you can't have it both ways.

Also, I may be in the minority here, but I would be happy to take a slightly simplified and more practical OGT if it means S2 gets built. Maybe the OGT is more of an A to A- rather than an A+.
