Does the article suggest that some -800s may be part of the deal?

The deal would be worth $13 billion at list prices for the smaller of two variants, though some of the aircraft are likely to options to be confirmed later.

Due to HNA's financial woes, Airbus has ferried 2 undelivered A330s to LDE for (short term?) storage.

These are MSN 1840 (Tianjin Airlines), and MSN 1847 (Capital Airlines).

More aircraft may follow.

Still the used value of such a small fleet would be limited. So they would be stuck with flying the wings of those A330. On the contrary. In case of orphans, Airbus tend to make buyback guarantees. That's why LDE is parked with A340s and early A380s. As such financing the a/c should not be an issue...
