I recall my operator getting about $50,000 in scrap about 20 years ago for a former AA 727-200. That was after all useful parts and flight control surfaces were picked off.

The 727 had alternate flaps as well. The trailing edge flaps were off a standby electric pump and they took forever to move. Had a friend that flew the DC-10 at Gemini and some Captains had an unofficial rule that if they were operating in remote places like Africa, not to use the #2 reverser on landing because of the problematic nature of locking the thing out being such a pain.

No, not yet lol. In flight maybe the autopilot will, I'm not sure though. On takeoff yes, you need to put the rudder in and then trim it with the rudder trim, engage the A/P.

Pretty common on hot days in places like Las Vegas to do in the A320 after a long taxi(we don't have brake fans on like 80% of the fleet). A320 series has a RAT. The RAT powers the blue hydraulic system and can power an emergency generator which is turned by hydraulic power.

It is on the belly just forward of the main gear well on the left side.


And the 727 did not have one.

I'm pretty sure this is the beginning of the end of the use of duct tape. You can't affix someone to their seat in case of an emergency evacuation, no matter how much a of a PITA they are. Where I am, we have the tuff cuffs, nothing else can be used, period.

We did it in the Falcon 20, well the original one we had with CF700-2D2 engines. I want to say it was normally 20ish seconds to 100 knots but that's fuzzy. We did standing takeoffs as SOP in them.
