The sixth Saab S340 arrived to GUA for Tag Airlines. This time is a S340B+ I’ve just checked the departure board of Guatemala City and TAG flies the GUA-FRS sector up to 5x daily. This pattern could be supplied with only two Saab 340s. My question is: where have all their remaining planes gone, inc...Jump to post

I still think that the ATR is the best aircraft for many intra-CA routes. Such a shame it is going away. Think of the likes of: FRS-GUA; SAL-RTB; SAL-TGU/SAP; GUA-TGU/SAP; SAL-MGA; SAL-BZE… I even think that some Grand Caravans could be used for routes like GUA-FRS (specifically), or even SAP/TGU/C...Jump to post
there are more flights to MEX from GUA than TGU, SAP, MGA and SAL combined. [MEX-GUA] is surely the most crowded Central American sector heading to Mexico City, in terms of the point to point traffic. I didn't take into account CM PTY-MEX 35x weekly as well as AV SAL-MEX 14x weekly as they're plent...Jump to post

Do we know why Avianca is getting rid of the ATR´s in Central America? I always tought that the ATR fitted perfectly in some of the routes it did/does fly (and i enjoyed them very much). They have not express the reasons why, maybe the JV between UA, CM and AV. Rumor is that they will create a new ...Jump to post
Happy New Year everyone! My top wish for 2019 (aviation-wise anyway) is for a SAN route to Latin America, and Central America make the most sense. Most of the talk/hope seems to involve COPA between PTY and SAN; I would be very happy with that. I have a strong feeling the SDIA Route Planners are wo...Jump to post
The degradations was not by the lack of TG register aircraft. Was the lack of audit that was not requested by the DGAC from the FAA (Costa Rica, El Salvador and Honduras does not have TI, YS or HR aircraft flying to the US for years and they are still CAT1). The only way now to go back to CAT1 is to...Jump to post
Happy new year to everyone. Hope aviation will continue to grow on the region.
Ehhh nop. They will continue to have US registration N. Remember that Guatemala category was degraded.

All ATR ops will be gone and will be replace by Embraer or Airbus equipment.
Does it include AV SAL-RTB ?

Great news for SAL. I am pretty sure, however, that GUA’s runway permits narrow bodies to fly wherever they want, as long as it’s within their range, as is the case of Canada and Lima. At first I thought so, but after reading the news I did a quick search of flights to and from GUA, and there is no...Jump to post

I saw a post that Copa is suspending all but MGA-GUA 3x a week. Things have really gone south for Nicaragua.
