I had my gall bladder removed three years ago. Onset was sudden, and it felt like what I imagine a gunshot to the abdomen feels like. Didn't know what it was initially, so I drove home from work and tried to sleep through it. Once it was apparent that this wasn't going to work, it was off to the ER....
