Re: Rumor: DL announcing new BOS routes next week.

And which are the TOP 10 unserved O&Ds in Europe? Out of the top 15 listed above, the only one not currently served from BOS is ATH. By the way, BOS also happens to be ATH’s top unserved North American route. ATH officials were quoted a few weeks ago saying there would be big long-haul developm...

Re: Rumor: DL announcing new BOS routes next week.

If any NEW international routes are announced, my money is on BOS-Spain (e.g. MAD/BCN). The top 10 O+D's for 2018 for BOS-Western Europe were: LON/PAR/DUB/KEF/FCO/AMS/BCN/LIS/FRA/MAN Assuming Delta will codeshare on the route with AZ for 2020, that leaves KEF/BCN/FRA for top 10 O+D's not served. NYC is usually 3-5 times larger than BOS for most Transatlantic markets so you may have to choose one or the other for Scotland.

Re: Rumor: DL announcing new BOS routes next week.

DL adding nonstop service to CLT, DFW, DEN, GRR, IAH, SDF, MSN, MEM, OMA, OKC, PHX, PDX, STL, SAT, and SAN out of BOS might happen as these are some of the top domestic destinations traveled to from Greater Boston that DL doesn't currently serve nonstop from BOS. I think AZ is going to surprise a few out of BOS. Just speaking anecdotally, it seems every time word went out that carrier x was cancelled or oversold, AZ was off limits due to their own bookings. Boston's market may be attractive but that does not mean: 1. It is sufficiently profitable for every market participant (e.g. Southwest), or 2. AMS works well for DL/KL because it's a huge hub. I don't think the O&D is that large from BOS but I could be wrong, so for that I don't think DY would start it with a 787 especially under the current financial situation. For B6 with an A321 and BOS connections it would work but judging by othe...

It makes sense since AA still has a decent size operation in BOS which leads to slack on Saturdays - the day most people fly out a for a week in the Bahamas or Caribbean.

I've heard ANU is dangling a subsidy for BOS - surprised no one has bit yet.
