Re: Indian Aviation Thread - Q3 2020

I actually wouldnt be surprised if AI gives up NA all together, given the UA/AC/UK partnership they compete against. The fact that they haven't updated their 777s is telling. The assumption that Air India is going to give up North America is just ridiculous. They have been flying these routes for m...

Re: Updated: UA plans EWR-JNB/OGG, IAD-ACC/LOS, ORD-DEL/KOA, SFO-BLR

I think you have misunderstood what I wrote so let be me a bit more specific. United has for years has hired immigrants for the FA position that have legally immigrated to the US before their employment began with United Airlines. United does not act as a sponsor for these FA's, some legally immigr...

Re: Updated: UA plans EWR-JNB/OGG, IAD-ACC/LOS, ORD-DEL/KOA, SFO-BLR

Since my question some how went sideways, let me rephrase... If United wants to inaugurate service to a foreign destination, are inflight interpreters required? Would they hire new bilingual FAs specific for that route while 5,500 other FAs are getting furloughed? United has bilingual FA's on all o...

I have no idea, but I don't think cuts after MAR would be real. They would cut it now if it were going away. I think the carriers are filing lots of schedule changes versus once per week in the past and that increases the chance that the schedule update catches them in the middle of the process. Ty...

Re: Indian Aviation Thread - Q3 2020

UA may have already driven AI out of ORD. As per the OAG thread, AI is discontinuing DEL-ORD from April 2021. I realize it is a few months away and AI may change schedules later but I will not be surprised if AI is out of ORD. I think it is an error. In the same post check DEL-JFK and BOM-EWR. They...

How will they staff the SFO-BLR flights with speakers? Despite furloughing 5,500 FAs, will they be hiring a handful of new Kannada/Hindi FAs for this route? DH to SFO from other language bases? Not sure what you are implying here but there is no need to hire "speakers". I have taken AF, L...

I am guessing Euro JV partners are carrying the lion's share of BLR-SFO traffic, even though EK may be the single largest percentage wise. There is a reason why LH operates a 8F/80J/32PE to BLR. How would LH fill its premium capacity after UA non-stop launch. SFO-DEL was successful because DEL is c...
