I seem to remember that years ago MIA was served by MP on their behalf?.. At the time MP was an independent airline with their own network. Though they were eventually acquired by KLM (after which their pax ops were discontinued), I don't believe they ever flew on behalf of KLM. Martijn Congrats! O...Jump to post

Door/slide is supposed to disarm when the outside handle is opened. Either this was a failure or it was opened from the inside (most likely the case) and the person forgot to disarm, or didn't know how to Or, somehow, the cabin crew forgot to disarm/crosscheck that particular door. Since the aircra...Jump to post

The jet is otherwise as reliable as it's western competitors. My comments disappear but he can make this claim? Many components in Airbus and Boeing planes are also produced by various suppliers but it doesn't seems like they face that much of a problems. I’m sorry, but you can’t separate the challenge of obtaining parts from the aircraft. If something is broken and you can’t get parts, there is something wrong with your airplane. We can protect it all we want and say it’s a fantastic airplane, but more than one airline has proved it simply isn’t tr...Jump to post
Hello everyone, Thank you for your answers, I had the information. External power AC, only on the cabine BUS N°4 and the 115/400 pump. Hi, Three ways to open Pax Doors On DC-10 1. Electrical, after lock is moved to unlock, a micro “electrical powered” handle (in old version, with handle painted gray complete), activating handle, you remove latches and, after they are open, a micro powers door actuator, that open. 2. Pneumatic, when...Jump to post
It’s been nearly 30 years since my DC-8 days, but I am pretty sure you need AC (ground power) to operate the door pump. There was a manual way to “pump” the door up IIRC. The door can be pumped open, but there is an isolation valve in the system. I can’t remember if the valve is on the battery bus,...Jump to post
Sorry, more complete question: Does your company keep an update Engine Parameter Trend? If yes, does it take actions when any parameter go out tolerances? Rgs I do not have this information. Hello: I had never dealt with a DC-8. I don’t know about similarities with DC10/ MD11 For these, to open any of the two main cargo door, You don’t need power, just a lot of Man Power., light will help to tell You when every On is on position to change to the next step, nothing more. Pusher, and lo Russian “Belaz” (a T-34 Power plant) was out of service. After that, airport decided to keep 2 pusher “green”, Justin case.

The only noise you would hear is a pressurization leak. It could be a faulty pressurization seal or Miss adjusted door stop fittings. Did you report it to the crew? I can't quite imagine how to reach the leakage with your wettened toilet paper. Next time, look for Toilet Paper’s roll, get it wet and place on top air leak. Sound will repeat after some 30 min, due paper become dry. Repeat procedure till land.
This procedure is not new, nor in AMM, is copyright from FA, who uses it for the same noise, when it comes from entry doors..
