Re: AA's PHX Hub in Jeopardy?

Just a gentle reminder that since the merger AA has referred and treated the PHX hub as their "Western Connecting Hub." It's never been promised or used as an international flight hub. THEREFORE, it isn't trying to be LAX, DFW, CLT...

Question: How many banks are normally operated at PHX?

I'd be curious what happens to the two beautiful murals above the central holding area. Someone told me they were designated historical items but I've never heard or read that anywhere. T2 was a breeze but it was a hell hole otherwise. It's being moved to the Car Rental Center. A lot more people wi...

I remember as a kid going to the roof to see family members walk across the tarmac from the terminal to the plane, turning to avoid the jet blast when the plane taxied away and the TWA L1011s and AA 747 and DC10s arriving. Good times.

Re: Phoenix Aviation Thread - 2020

Austin, where I am a resident, has recently gained a lot of international service in spite of it's being very close to DFW and IAH. PHX has issues working against its attracting more international service than Doug Parker or it's proximity to LAX. I was born and raised in PHX and would like to see m...

AA had a great 2019 in PHX with new year around service to LHR, RDU, RAP, CUU & COS and seasonal service to MSY, CID, ICT, FAR, CVG (FLL only 3 weeks). As far as Intercontinental, I doubt AA will add anything new to PHX. I would prefer to see AF, KL & JL tails for some diversity in the airp...

Re: Phoenix Aviation Thread - 2019

I remember being a child when AA brought the 747 into PHX on a publicity tour. TWA did the same with theirs, although AA actually flew it here as part of their scheduled service. In the studies done within the last year or so they have discussed this. It's well after they add a 2nd concourse to the north side of T3. Someone with better computer/organizational skills than I should be able to find it. IIRC I read this in a posting on this forum.
