As a reminder to the crowd, operating profit is before net interest costs of debt, and with all U.S. carriers (except WN) carrying a lot of debt, debt costs can't be ignored. DL's net interest expense 1Q24 was $205 million, and AA's will likely be twice that.

Perhaps this is repetitive, but A220s got ETOPS180 in 2019, in contrast to the 190+195-E2s receiving just ETOPS120 this year.

RUN-MAA with ETOPS120 is achievable per Great Circle Mapper. (Not saying E2s have the range.)

I do not believe DL will return to Valencia or choose another secondary airport in Spain any time soon. Unlike AA and UA, DL does not have any 321XLRs on order, and the 767s are being retired progressively through ~2030, including a few this year.

Two or three 321neos a day isn't a lot of seats. DL uses widebodies within the US-48 pretty selectively (seasonally) aside from Hawaii, JFK-LAX and a few ATL routes.
