Re: AA Leadership Recognizes Widening Gap Between Itself, Delta - article

So funny to read the comments and think that routes, city focus etc is a solution. When every really needs to be focused on upper management. The only way to change AA is going to be from upper management turn over, forcing down a paradigm shift in customer service, product, and BECOMING INNOVATIVE....

Re: AS announces San Luis Obispo from PDX & SAN

SAN-SBP is already well served by Amtrak. Not sure who’ll fly this route who isn’t connecting. Those who would choose not to drive would be better off taking the train. Why would anyone take hours out of their life on Amtrak? I did it once and never again! It’s constantly delayed, shitty service, t...

Honestly he is going to lose. 1. He was offered a seat in the First Class cabin. He declined 2. He was offered a seat in coach with compensation. He declined. 3. The pet in cabin’s owner (ESA) was also a paid F customer attempted to change seats in her cabin of payment to “diffuse” the situation 4. ...

SDM is currently in negotiations with US Navy and SD Port Authority. I bet I know who will win that battle. Right now SDM is an extension of Coronado. Everything I am being told (married to the source) is that we can count out SDM being an extension of SAN. Good thing the airport has its own set of...

Re: San Diego Aviation Thread - 2019

Why did Delta stop flying the MD-90 to MSP? Delta is almost exclusively flying A320/321 and 757s into SAN now. The one exception is the random 717 flight to and from LAX. The only 75’s for Delta are JFK. SEA is 100% 320 ATL, DTW, MSP 100% 321 - see occasional 753 in rotation depending on time of ye...

I see two expansions possible: #1 move the cargo operations on the north side of the field to Brown Field (SDM). The number of aircraft movements are minimal, and Fed Ex, UPS, Airborne/DHL, etc. all have sizeable existing operations near the border of Brown owing to the existence of the Otay cargo ...

Re: Virginia Aviation Thread. RIC, ORF, ROA, CHO

The only airline capable of doing a west coast run would be Delta on the new A220 with 109 capacity. However I think they have other plans other than a small market like RIC/ORF for the A220. Until they are ramped up anyway. The A319 with 130 capacity could work... but I’m not sure RIC has the O/D t...

My guesses
BOS - SAN (75S)
SJC - SAN (220)
SJC-RDU (319) used to served by Midway
SJC - DFW (220)
SJC -AUS (220)
SJC - ORD (220)
SJC - MCI (220)
SJC - PDX (220)

I think you see where I’m going... too business routes on the 220.

Delta loses 2M per month on SYD according to the last employee round table. Why would they invest in a market that is a money hog. I’m actually surprised it has not moved seasonal or dropped over to VX fully.

Yeah, we don't know the yields, nor do we know the cargo performance. Also you might have to factor in any incentives provided by SAN to procure the flight, those will require BA keep up the service and assist in any losses over the first year or two, if BA are doing well on cargo, front of the hou...
