Re: What’s next for Silver Airways?

I'm seeing availability for Silver Airways to Branson from IAH and ORD via the United web site. Service looks to start June 27. Flight 180 is scheduled to depart IAH at 9:50 am and arrive in Branson at 11:05 am. The same aircraft appears to continue at 3M 181 departing at 11:40 am and arriving ORD ...

Initially at Million Air. Then they moved to the hard stand at the international terminal where they offloaded the passengers.

Post Screening - High In Frame

Hi All, I'm looking for some guidance on a recent rejection. <a href="http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/rejections/big/APPEAL_20160518_c1462666269.8923n8644c-southwest-737-800-hou-2016-04-02.jpg" target="_blank">http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/r...uthwest-737-800-hou-2016-04-02.jpg</a> The first...

Yes, that one looks like it may be the one to surpass the Canon 100-400 plus give the extra focal length while the Contemporary will likely be near the quality of the existing 150-500. Breaking out the popcorn and waiting for the reviews to come  <img src="http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-...

RE: Rumor: Sigma Will Also Announce 150-600

The softness on the long end is why I eventually gave up on the Tamron. If they make the lens the caliber of their prime Art series, relatively speaking, and have surpass the Canon 100-400 at that range and meet or surpass that type of quality at the long end, they'll have a winner on their hands. I...

It looks like the results are mixed on my end. The two that were accepted came through normally. On the two rejections, I received an e-mail for one, but not one for the other. Both however, are in the rejected photos bin as expected.

Feel free to use mine in the queue for testing if it will help things along. I have them tracked on my end, so no big deal if one or more vaporize.

RE: Tripod Shooting

If you have a gimbal head on the tripod it could be of use. With any other head, it will make the panning action much harder. Even with a gimbal, your range of motion is limited and you may miss some shots at high angles. If you can handhold the lens, I'd recommend doing so.

RE: Anybody Tried New Tamron 150-600

I'd echo the comments about it being comparable to the Canon 100-400. I've found my post processing is very similar up to 500 mm with it taking a bit extra sharpening due to softness as you approach 600 mm. Definitely a fun lens for the price. A few examples that are in the database, with the first ...

Hi all. I'm looking for some assistance on a set of rejections I had for an image. RE: Night Ramp Shots - How They Are Made

Wind can certainly be a factor at <acronym title="Houston - George Bush Intercontinental (IAH / KIAH), USA - Texas">IAH</acronym> as well, and I have indeed removed the lens hood in windy conditions. Regarding catching the landing lights illuminated, that is definitely where the full frame helps. In...

RE: Night Ramp Shots - How They Are Made

Attempting to get a shot of a moving aircraft is a much, much harder task, and my panning skills are no where near what it takes to get a good one. I find that the shorter shots are actually more challenging than the longer ones as long as the aircraft does not move. The ones that last a few seconds...

Night Ramp Shots - How They Are Made

I've had several requests come in regarding the night shots I've taken at <acronym title="Houston - George Bush Intercontinental (IAH / KIAH), USA - Texas">IAH</acronym>, and how one would go about making similar images. Rather than replying directly, I figure a post on the forum may stimulate a dis...

We do have a large and friendly group here. As mentioned, the Houston Spotters site is by far the best resource and will provide the information you need for your trip. Let us know when you are going to be down! I have admired the work that Andy, Kevin Boydston, and others have done on the site for ...
