Some smoke/CO2 detectors have life limits, usually 7-10 years. Some have non-replaceable batteries. And yes, the chirp is annoying and even removing the battery won't stop it. Update: the 2nd Moderna shot knocked me out; yesterday I was fatigued beyond belief, plus aching and fevered-like. Had to call in sick to work and everything.
