The press release mentions five new wide body gates. Are all of these in the concourse B, gate 14 and 16 area or combined with the new wide body gates in the former American Eagle area in concourse B, gate 31?

SJC and at one time OAK were co-terminals of the main SFO crew base, as JFK, LGA and EWR are co-terminals of New York crew base and DCA, IAD and BWI are co-terminals of Washington crew base. The only satellite of SFO was SMF from 2012. SEA was a stand alone crew base from 1991 until early 2002.

Appears as if 757 Luxuryliner signage was removed from the 757 fleet during 2003. Not certain about other fleet types.

At SFO, Terminal 1 I was recently looking at the yet to be opened new gates and noticed that gate B11 has a jetway extending from an upper level area (also not yet completed). Could this have been envisioned for an A380?

Looks like no further Qantaslink 717 operations in WA. VH-NXG, VH-NXL and VH-NXM did their last flights into PER from PBO and ZNE on 26 March.
The 717s were so much a part of WA going back to 2005 when they transitioned from Jetstar.

Does anyone recall when AA introduced a sort of southwest (Arizona, New Mexico - not the airline) inspired type of color pattern of Y seats in the early '90s?
I recall that they were on a DC-10 and very nice and more professional in appearance that the grey / blue combo that is being discussed.

Thanks for re-posting those images. Seems AA was, understandably experimenting with their first factory fresh Astroliners. The fact that they had the PA upper deck configuration on the safety cards and not the stateroom config. is noteworthy. Seems they weren't fully on board with the stateroom plan...

Delta initiated 747-132 service on 25 Oct 1970. While I'm not certain if DL had the "Penthouse" setup when the type began revenue operations, I suppose it's possible that they liked what they saw in AA's Astroliners "stateroom" that had entered service in June.

Nice catch on the phrase upper deck stateroom, The Captain's Deck. While the accompanying map in that brochure does show the Pan Am seat map (main deck galley units for PA vs. lower galleys for AA), I'm sure we can eliminate any possibility that the PA 747-121s had that "private stateroom"...
