Re: United Fleet Upgrade Status - 2018

That's cool. So, I wonder if UA will hold off slightly on it the HA units until 2 class birds have excess seats removed. There will be 85 E+/Y seats coming off the current 2 class birds for the 76L configuration. UA will probably reuse these seats on the HA aircraft - it would two aircraft to get e...

It could have just been my perception, but it seemed narrower as did the entry way. Regardless it’s a beautiful seat and cabin. It is not narrower. It's MUCH narrower so it's a pain to work inside the cabin after the seats are installed. Still... it looks nice so that's what matter! Thanks for the ...

Not surprising... given the age of the aircraft when undergoing a HMV and such a heavy makeover you are bound to discover tons of problem!

And also better to discover all the problems before re-entering service than having issues down the line huh?

Re: Cargolux LX-VCF grounded by helicopter load fuel leak.

Aircraft are quite tolerant of fuel leaks in side the pressure vessel. I had a 747-400 with a leak at the tailtank and the whole area under the 'bulk' compartment (hold 5) was awash with jet fuel. The tail-tank was made inop and the fuel line capped. The water- truck was called in and water was pum...
