FRA to JNB or WDH or CPT
all are in UTC+2 but the Central African Republic and South Sudan share a direct border and everything due West of the CAR is in UTC+1, while everything due East of South Sudan is in UTC+3 so there's no possibility to stay in "UTC+2 airspace" all the way down.

I had the same experience booking a transcon recently but that's obviously anecdotal.
However, when booking my last two TATL roundtrips ex-FRA UA/LH proved most affordable which was somewhat of a surprise at first, but a very pleasant one.
