As has been noted, there have been a lot of Atlas cargo traffic moving through PDX. At the time it began, ANC was having serious WX issues. That has long passed, and they continue to flow at least 5-6/day through PDX to Asia, even with normal flow going on in ANC. Not sure why.

Tried booking PDX-MIA late August, returning first week of September, and not only has AS dropped, or temporarily suspended the route, so has AA. Looks like they both blinked. Hopefully it is just a seasonal suspension. Certainly wouldn’t have thought both would have been axed/suspended. The Flights...

In 1990 at LAX I met a DC-8 cargo flight crew (can’t remember the carrier) while waiting for a flight. I spoke mainly with the FE, and at the time, found it insanely strange that he had no flying hours, and had no intent on piloting. He was an engineer, and that’s all he wanted to do.

AS has priced PDX-MIA as low as $84 one-way; December 12 is what I looked at, but there are quite a few other dates with the same fare (or slightly higher) as well. Don’t see any AS arrivals for C23. Showed you arrived around 9p, nothing from AS. AS never uses C23, only C22. Sure that is the correct gate? AS 1307 from ONT arrived just before you arrived at gate C22. That may be the flight.
